WHAT YALL THINK ABOUT THAT. THERES AN AVERAGE OF 100 MURDERS, ETC. IN OAKLAND A YEAR,AND THATS BLACKS KILLING BLACKS, BUT NO ONE RIOTS OR PROTESTS, I MEAN THEY DO, BUT NOT TO THIS EXTENT. BLACKS SHOOTING AT COPS, AND COPS SHOOTING AT BLACKS. THEN ONE BLACK MAN GETS SHOT BY A COP, AND OAKLAND GOES CRAZY. BLACKS QUICK TO TEAR UP THERE OWN NEIGHBORHOOD, WHETHER ITS BLACKS MURDERING EACH OTHER, DRUGS, ETC. OR NOT. O.J. ALL OVER AGAIN....STUPID. NOW THATS MY OPINION,WHATS YALLS OPINION. IF YOU DONT AGREE WITH MY OPINION, ITS COOL, IM NOT PERFECT AND I DONT KNOW EVERY THING BUT EVERYBODY IS ENTITLED TO THEIR OPINION. EITHER WAY YOU LOOK AT IT ITS WRONG FOR COPS TO KILL ANYONE, BUT WHEN ARE WE GONNASTART LOOKING AT US KILLINGEACH OTHER? YALL BE SAFE.

The kid was only 22 and he was shot while handcuffed and face down to the ground not struggling. I think that is a reason to act up. But the problem is the hyphy movement that is going in the bay is the crack baby movement. Plus there arent many resorces to rebuild our community. The schools are at the lower part of the country. drugs and drug money is running the communitys.

Its really a complex situation, there are so many factors that make the Bart situation and just oakland city life what they are. I think the protests are great, we need more protest in this country, people are sleepwalkin around. Im still really torn about what happened. I cant believe the cop would just execute him, i really think he fucked up, either way, this aint the first time, protests are needed.

As far as you tying that back to lack of community outrage over mainly gun violence in Oakland and other cities and neighborhoods. Of course your right, but people are sleep walkin, the level of crime is almost expected.

What all those factors equal is what really scares me. gentrification doesnt seem to be stopping, with the economic problems or not. I cant believe what the Tenderloin looks like now, even parts of the mission and HP, i was serven a sak out in westlake, daly city. fuckn shocked at all the change. I was even talkin to some youngstas on BART from oakland and they were tellin me about all the new housin goin up in Oakalnd I think along Macarthur that was "strickly for white people" The face of alot of bay area cities are going to change dramatically in the next 15-20 years if people dont wake up and take care of your family, neighborhood, and brothas. Cuz if u dont, this beast called capitalism and his posse are gonna wipe you out like you never even existed.

it was necessary for this case to be visabil on a national scale. The shit was beyond unjust and it was refreshing to see people rise against police brutality and out right murder.

i've lived in 3 or 4 houses where dudes houses litterly across the street either got shot up numerous times each or when dude just got got in his front yard.thats there fact of life, my kids or my parents or my neighbors have to deal with that too............

Look, I'm not saying what happened was a good thing. the people whose property was destroyed in no way deserve it, but nobody in any position of power seems to really give a shit about Oakland these days and folks are just saying "Oh mercy me isn't it terrible that such individuals could be so misguided." Those in charge really don't give a fuck, and this shitty-ass situation is what results.

I don't think anyone here is an apologist for the murder of Grant. I don't even think the police or bart really apologists for the murder, but I can understand the outrage that has come from its aftermath, and the faux-bewilderment is, frankly, insulting.

And I want to ask, each and everyone of you since you are complaining about what happened how involved are you in your community? These youth have no where to direct there anger and frustration. We need to be out here trying to do something.

And to set the record straight , it was not just black youth who participated in the riots- there were grown ass white folks who did as well so folks stop putting it just on our youth.

the murder is the focal point.

the reason for the outrage is that the officer hasnt been charged with a crime like any of us would have. rather than violent protest the leaders of these communities need to push for charges. being ignorant and going dumb like it is the thing to do will only create more unnecessary hearthache. adults in the communities need to be mentors to the kids not poison.

For every action there's a re-action so what we are see'in with the roit'in is the re-action
of a crooket cop's doing,and it's not just the young black youth that's protesting.....
There's asian's,latin's,white's etc......I believe the roit's would not have kick'd off if he did'nt kill the kid,and 2nd if the officer had been in custody that same night he killed Oscar but no they wanna act in denial turn the table's around,and make it seem like the young black youth is wrong.
I don't cadome the car stomping but i don't knock it....

But im going to be the first to say that i bet that the devil cop get arrest'd,and charge for 2nd degree muder,or manslaughter by next week...
