I agree the Bay needs rappers with more substance. However there are some out there that haven't been heard enough. My folks Sellassie is a rapper with great substance in his music. He calls himself a revolutionary but gangsta artist. I think its too many artists in the Bay and everywhere as a matter of fact that feel they need to prove how tough and gangsta they are in every song. I have also witnessed cats that talk about gangsta shit that aren't gangsta at all. Ive also seen cats go in the booth talking about I smoke big purp blah blah blah and these cats don't even smoke treez. WTF? Fake shit will never go anywhere.

If you're hungry to hear something different, go look for it. The bay got the underground poppin still. The point I think you're making is invalid due to the nature of what you're looking for. The Heiros, the Grouch's, the Living Legends NEVER sold or made it into the mainstream. Zion I is on fire right now. You're going to have to look for those type of artists, like going to shows. Making that statement that we need more of this or that is plain ignorant without basing it off any facts.
