I see his point of view, but I ain't with it. I guess all of us non-african american's better quit rapping before we make it to the top then correct or we're going to go thru this too? It's like saying we're not welcome. Yes, he's speaking on Eminem (white) but that finger could easily be pointed at the next cat which could be any one of us non-blacks...(asians, latins, indians etc.). There is no denying this fact because if it happens, the articles will fly.
This culture is beautiful and when something beautiful is seen and noticed for it's beauty...people want to be somehow be a part of that and be involved. It's like having a fine ass female as your lady, but gettin upset when cats stare at her or hit on her when your not around....she's FINE, SEXY, A NOTCH...take it for what it is and accept you got something beautiful and take it as a compliment that cats wanna holla at that.
I think it's amazing to see European's, Asian's, Indian's, Latin's, Phillipino's in all these other countries doing their own versions of HIP HOP. It's grown to be a dominant musical culture all over the world and rather than see that, there are some people that would rather find it's flaws, poke holes in it's credability, find an alterior motive etc.
Me being Puerto Rican & Mexican, I feel strongly about this topic and I know how it feels not to be accepted at shows etc. I choose to look for the brighter spots in this business, but ALWAYS keep myself aware of the contorversial things that surround it as well.
BTW - I do not like replying to these topics because they get so outa hand but C.Parker's my folks and I believe we both intelligent enough to have an adult conversation.
Stay Up.
