Two different respected producers. I didn't even look at the credits when I bought ghetto report card when I first listened to it. All the tracks that I liked listening over and over too were produced by Lil Jon. He knows the sound that will appeal to everyone. Rick Rock's sound is a little more organic.

In my opinion.

The songs that define Rick's style are Jay-Z's 'Change The Game' Fabulous & Nate Dogg's 'Can't Deny It' and Xzibit & Dr. Dre's 'Symphony In X Minor'

Those are the ones that have most of the classic Rick Rock elements in there IMO...check those out and you'll see why he's the UNDISPUTED KING OF :

how you figure that?

Rick Rock is the originator of the "hyphy" SOUND...
inorder for Jon to figure out what hyphy is suppose to sound like, he had to go to the source....you know...do research...

Rick will always be the King of Slaps...hands down...He is versitile as well...check his resume...

lil jon's songs may get more play. he's got a formula that works. but when speakin on real producers, lil jon shouldn't even be allowed in the same building as rick rock.
lil jon doesnt use a formula
the reason he is so respected as a producer is because he uses more components in his songs then most of the hip hop world
but he could never compare to rick rock on these hyphy beats

JON eats rick rock, he is way more versatile then rick rock is and thats what makes him titer. He did listen to rick rock to learn hyphy, look how easy he adapted to it, its easily one of the hyphyest songs on the album. i aint turnin my back on what rocks done for the bay but as far as producing goes, i never seen rock put out no stars like jon did, how many #1 hits did rick have compared to JON?

some of yall probably may not know nuthin about this

but Lil Jon used to do a lot of the SO SO DEF (BOOTY) BASS ALL-STARS beats

so that UPBEAT... south "BOOTY" music that even made its way out here thruout the early & mid 90s (before there was any type of hyphy music)

was all the work of lil jon.. so dont sit up here and act like RICK ROCK was the first person to make a daym beat witta higher tempo then usual

and actually... if that bass music aint the closest thing to hyphy music i dont know what is

so of course.. he aint gon be called the KING of SLAPS... cuz thats rick title... but if u dont think daym near ANY mainstream producer could make a hyphy beat (if they wanted to)... u trippin

im waitin for more bay artists to choose some of Rick's more quality beats myself
