But do yall think its time to call lil jon the king of slapps instead of rick rock cuz lil jon 2 songs(tell me when..,blow the whistle) did more for the bay than rick rocks catalog of slapps. im a fan of rick rock but lil jon got heat, i thought those two songs were some rick rock or someone from the bay type of shit.

they both tight. lil jon recognized 4 his beats more cuz he has a bigger name. but rick rock also has a big name in the mainstream, just not as big, rick rock has worked wit jay-z, 2pac (all eyez on me album, i 4get wat song), xzibit (muthafucka), fabolous (bubble gum), busta rhymes (i know what you want), and many more.

Exactly!! Why does this same topic get brought up?!?! why are we always so damn quick to compare two things...

No doubt. Rick Rock is the undisputed King Of Slaps.

But you can't deny. Without Jon, The Bay/Hyphy would not be on MTV, MTV2, BET, and nationwide radio.

Lil Jon is a good producer...no1 said he wasnt...but the new King of Slaps....he definately is not...

that would be like Rick doing a few crunk beats and then deciding to call him the new King of Crunk...

Damn... the Intercontinental belt always looked hella clean.

But you can't ask that kind of question in a Bay Area forum without extreme bias. You couldn't go in an ATL forum and ask if Rick Rock is the king of slaps...

rick rock is in the underground, he doesn't have the character and exposure that lil jon has created.

too me lil jons beats are simple but they slap, he uses hard baselines with a couple of synths and some good drums

rick rock on the otherhand is more versatyle, he does do hyphy but from looking at his credits i've heard a lot of different kind of beat styles from him

the mainstream cats get all the attention, we know this

the hardest beat maker is still unknown. only a few people are selected and put up into mainstream by the bigger corps and investors.
