Actually it is very normal for product placement to have a charge.

As for CD's and posters, if there is room we are putting them in the film because it is set at a record store. If it's t-shirts, aribrush, or bigger product then we will work on individuals needs.

But for this film we are not charging for product placement we are just supporting our soil as usual.

I'm not gonna argue cause it aint a big deal, and we just seem to have differnt experiences. On the features I have worked on, the production company if anyone has paid for the rights to use product placement and to rent the products if there is any charge at all. I have never heard of a private company paying to put their product in a movie.

Usually the art dept or production dept contact companies whose stuff they want to use or they go to a produtplacment company. They art dept gets all the stuff and decides wether they want to include it or not. I like to use as much real product as possible so i dont have to greek logos.
