I'm finally tryna get with the program and get me a XBox Live acct. The only thing is my modem is in a different room hooked up with my computer & i aint tryna lay a long ass cable thru the house... I've been lookin into gettin the microsoft wireless adapter and a wireless router, but i've been readin it causes problems wit some routers cause they're not compatible with the wireless adapter hooked up to the 360. For all that got a wireless set up like this, how does it work for yall and what brand/model router do yall own??

most any wireless router works to connect xbox wireless adapter.

its pretty simple, get a router from the store (linksys and 2wire are the easiest to use, make sure you get the right kind of wireless router for dsl or cable whatever you use). install it on your computer from the cd and get the wireless working (you can put a password on the wireless so no one else goes on your wireless signal).

buy a microsoft wireless adapter, its only $80 bucks on sale this week at best buy, you can get your router and xbox adapter there at the same time. the ms one is super easy to do its pretty much plug and play. the non microsoft adapters work and are cheaper they run off external power source so you gotta plug the wireless adapter in a outlet to power it. while the MS one runs off the xbox's power. i tihnk worth the extra price for it.

turn the xbox on, go to network settings, find your wireless signal, type in the password if you turn your wireless security on (password). then itll connect. thats it.

how reliable is wireless connection? ive been wondering this for the longest
never had any problems on my 360 but my ps3 was constantly having problems. i couldnt play more than 2 matches in a row of COD with getting disconnected. actually switched to a ethenet cable. dont even use wireless on my ps3 anymore

my ps3 is upstairs, one room from the router and gets 52% signal. my 360 is downstairs at the other side of the house and gets 92%. explain that to me,i dont get it
