WWE releases NINE wrestlers......
I don't know how many of you follow wrestling, but WWE has done their spring cleaning early this year. They've released a total of NINE wrestlers in the past 4 days and it looks like there's more to come. The current list of wrestlers that got the pink slip are:

- Billy Gunn
- A-Train
- Test
- Gail Kim
- Chuck Palumbo
- Nidia
- Johnny Stamboli
- Rodney Mack
- Jazz

Thats a new record for the number of wrestlers being fired in such a short period of time. Test in particular is out with a neck injury, and when he asked what he was going to do for money, WWE told him "I hope you have alot saved".

On top of that, they released 3 divas when their "women's division" only has a small number of wrestlers. Does this mean that they're going to do away with the women's division?

Jake the snake found guilty of abusing snakes.

Wrestler Guilty of Mistreating Show Snake

By Brian Farmer, PA News

A professional wrestler was today convicted of mistreating a 12ft snake which he used as part of his act.

Jake the Snake Roberts, 48, who was born near Dallas, Texas, but lives in London Colney, Herts, faces a fine or community punishment as a result of causing unnecessary suffering to the male Burmese python.

Magistrates in St Albans, Herts convicted 18st Roberts, once a star of the World Wrestling Federation circuit, of causing unnecessary cruelty to the python between August and September 2003.

Roberts, whose real name is Aurelian Smith Jnr, did not attend the three-day trial and was convicted in his absence.

Magistrates issued a warrant ordering the 6ft 6in wrestler to return to court at a date to be fixed to be sentenced.

The RSPCA, which brought the prosecution, said the snake had not been fed for several months, was suffering from mouth rot and was kept in an unsuitable tank in the garage of his home.

Magistrates were told Roberts waved the snake around before his wrestling bouts and threw it towards defeated opponents.

"We are satisfied that Mr Smith (Roberts) was responsible for the day-to-day care of the snake," said magistrate's chairman Mike Bamford.

"The snake was in a very poor condition.”"

He added: "We are considering a community punishment sentence, fine and a ban on keeping reptiles."

Magistrates were told by the RSPCA that the snake had died after being seized by RSPCA inspectors.

RSPCA officials said its remains would now be destroyed.

Roberts' business partner Valerie Burnham, 59, who shared a house with Roberts in London Colney, was found not guilty of causing unnecessary suffering to the snake.

Snake dealer Kevin Wicks, 30, of Bracknell, Berkshire, who had given the snake to Roberts, was found not guilty of permitting unnecessary suffering to the python.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Andre the Giant was arguably the most beloved wrestler ever in the sport. Wherever he went people would fill arenas just to see him wrestle. His physical size was only surpassed by the size of his loving heart. Andre will never be forgotten in the sport of proffesional wrestling.

Andre was born is Grenouble, France on May 19, 1946 to two parents who were both over 6 feet tall. His Bulgarian Grandfather was a huge man who topped out at 7'8"! Andre suffered from acromegaly, which means his growth hormones were out of control.

Andre left home at the tender age of 14. When he left he was 6'3" and weighed 200 pounds! Andre worked at a furniture store in Paris until he was 17, at that time he was discovered by two wrestlers. You can guess what happened next.

Andre came to North America in 1971 under the name Jean Ferre. He was a moderate sucess in Canada. He then met a booker by the name of Vince McMahon Sr. Andre turned into a Household name while in the WWF.

Andre seeked the WWF title for years but it was not until he turned rulebreaker and helped Ted DiBiase that he captured the gold by beating Hulk Hogan on Febuary 5, 1988. Andre sold the title to DiBiase minutes later.

Andre's match against Hulk Hogan at Wrestlemania III was when he passed the torch to Hogan as the most popular wrestler in the world. Andre allowed Hogan to beat him that night in Michigan. The place erupted after Hogan bodyslammed Andre and hit the legdrop.

After Wrestlemania III Andre's health slowly worsened as we saw him fade away before or very eyes. Soon Andre's health forced him to only wrestle in tag team matches. Andre did capture the Tag Team Title's with Haku but that was his last stint of glory in wrestling.

Andre's health continued to worsen until finally he died while in France to attend his Father's funeral. Andre was cremated and his ashes were spread across his farm in the United States.

Andre did have a small family as he had one daghter. I would like to stress this fact right now. THE GIANT, PAUL WIGHT IS NOT ANDRE'S SON!!!

The facts above where taken from the A&E presenatation Biography on Andre The Giant.
