European tour with DJ Shadow already got shut down because the emcees he was bringing (Keak, Turf, and Nump) couldn't get Visa's. All the UK shows got postponed. And you KNOW how much I was amped for this.

Just got this in the last few minutes (original flyer is below):

It is with huge regret that we are postponing the DJ Shadow gig.

Unfortunately, due to visa problems, the MCs due to join Shadow have not been able to gain access into the UK and the team setting up this part of the tour have decided to postpone the dates.

Shadow is apparently gutted as he's a man of high morals who doesn't make a habit of cancelling gigs and this has been completely out of his hands. Below is a statement from their management. We understand the people are going to be disappointed and we completely understand as we too are extremely frustrated at this situation. We have put a huge amount of effort into this gig, and were also very excited about it, this is something that has been out of both our and Shadow's hands and we will be working together to get this rearranged at the earliest opportunity.

Dear All,
Just a quick reach out with our regrets that the shows between June 8th-11th can't happen.

Shadow [and the team] have worked hard to try & bring something new & fresh to you, but unfortunately last minute trouble with passports & visas for the rappers, there is no way they will receive their paperwork in time to travel.

Shadow s website will post something about this later tonight or worst case tomorrow (30th).

We will try reschedule this in some way. David will be in touch about that over the coming week or so.

Meanwhile, thanks for your understanding & most of all your help in trying to make all this happen.

sounds like the uk aint f*ckin with rappers from the u.s! (i.e: snoop getting banned)
It goes alot deeper than the Coolio or Snoop situation... I used to "Know" these square cats that used to run hustle back in the day and the solid turf brothas that they really needed, couldnt leave the Country.

The common reasons were Child Support, Warrants or Criminal Record.

I guess Keak and turf will be rappin about being "too hard" to leave the Country.

WTF? You don't need a Visa to go to the UK unless you're gonna be there longer than 90 days...I was just out there. Once you get there, you're free to roam around the EU for up to 3 months.

Do you mean they couldn't get passports??

It takes a few weeks to get ya passport....sometimes longer. I didn't have a problem getting one with a record...went all over europe and never had my passport questioned....but they held me in the Vancouver airport for like 6 hours....said I'm a felon in Canada, made me pay a couple hundred bucks for some additional paperwork....that was pretty weak

That too is what I thought.

This same excuse was given to the public when Eek-a-Mouse's gig got cancelled. It was rebooked about 4 months later. Fingers crossed eh?

the excuse for not being permitted a visa was something to do with the money that was to be made from his visit.. Maybe the same shit huh?
