@ gringo, if youre going to try and sound smart, spell words above 6 letters correctly.

secondly, i'm avoiding everything because message board arguments that revolve around common sense are corny.

give it some thought, and youll realize what im saying is true. if you dont, fuck it.. you just dont agree. but that dosent mean im gonna sit here and go back and forth with your clucker ass all day just so you can see it from my eyes.

I stayed in Virginia and South Carolina for a few years and when the conversation came up about where I was from the first thing people usually asked was how close to LA I was.

and lemme clear some shit up...

i love the bay. im up there almost every 2 weeks. i even street team for thizz down here, now. but i travel alot, and i have ran across all walks of people. and when talking about california, the thing i see often is that people associate that whole blue skies, palm trees, lowriders, and crips/bloods thing with the entirety of california.

of course us californians know better, but outsiders do not. you would be suprised how many people outside of california that do not know how far the bay is from la and that they are entirely two different worlds.

You guys are actually right as far as people's perception of California being for the most part, everything that Southern Cali is, palm trees, beaches, and Hollywood.

But the point is that most people's perception are far from reality, as the majority of The West Coast, is nothing like So-Cal.

im not sure, but im willing to bet the population of san diego city (not county) + the city of LA is a huge chunk of cali.

i do agree with that though. once you leave la going north, its pretty much nothing like southern cali. that said, nothing between the 5 and the 580 is even worth stopping at beyond to get gas.

unless you wanna count fresno (and i dont.)

No, of course it wouldn't be the same. Not just westcoast rap either but rap in general wouldn't be the same. It's undeniable.

Yeah I moved to TX from San Diego back in the 90's and that is how it was. San Diego, is it gangster like LA? How far away from LA is it?

You are spot on with the norcal too. I have seen that alot. Which is too bad. Both parts of Cali are better than most of the other garbage states

to the original question

I think the westcoast would be the same. Because it is bigger than Snoop. ANYONE could have represented the West Coast at that time being associated with Dre and Warren G. But therie were so many other people who didnt get as much exposure. MC Eiht, DJ Quik, Lynch....hell with Lynch I just happened to meet someone from Sac and he had that season of the siccness. I am sure I would have picked up on him after those appearances on the WCBB CD's, but still. Westside Connection. I am not going to sit here and lists every westcoast artists.

IMO, Snoop fell off after Doggystyle. The Doggfather was garbage with a couple of tight tracks. His No limit shit was the same. Some good tracks, but nowhere near the level of Doggystyle.

Whether or not Snoop fell off is irrelevant. The important thing is that he did Doggystyle, which had a tremendous affect on rap music as a whole during the time. Doggystyle is the reason things would've been different without Snoop. Like I said, it's undeniable.

Gas One, you're close when you say "when people think of cali, they think of southern cali".....

But in reality, when people think of Cali, they think of L.A.
