I'm not a big big E-40 fan, but I like his shit. Now that I hear him on hella NY mixtapes and shit and doin it so big.. gotta wonder what other fans think. Rick Rock is connecting the rest of the music industry to the Bay/Cali with his ill beats. So would 40water be as popular as he is along every coast without Rick Rock?

40 signed with jive waaaay before rick was a factor...
True, but would 40 be as big as he is TODAY... without Rick Rock is the question. He doin tracks wit Talib Kweli, Justin Timberlake, Fabolous, P Diddy, just to name a few across the country. He was nowhere near this status way back when.

I agree on that, plus Mike Mosley & Sam Bostic always made them tight ass mob beats for Fonzerelli from way back.

True. I think 40's shit was tighter back in those days. It's tight now too but his old shit was classic.

My age has nothing to do with anything, and I been into the Bay rap scene more than 10 years. I'm not downplaying 40. I am only curious what people think, if Rick Rock had much to do with 40's bigger accomplishments within the past few years that I've noticed. Also, I'm pretty sure the episodes of Jamie Foxx that 40 appeared on was much more recent than '96.

DoneDeal: Thanks for actually telling me something I didn't know bout 40 and Rick Rock.
