Took a minute to peep Gweets music and his delivery is....different, its kind of like his rap is one long sentence with a few pauses thrown, the first song is about something about some shoes he bought and hustlin or something...Nothing was really consistent and it was hard to understand a lot of his lyrics due to his delivery style being so cluttered.
Overall the song sounds like a paragraph of written lyrics and a bunch of punch ins and outs and overdubs..there doesnt seem to be a real topic overall except for Gweet just jumpin on the beat and readin whatever he wrote, seems to be a slight lack of direction or foundation for the song...He does appear to be able to make some words rhyme and stay on beat some of the time though, I think he needs to find his delivery and voice before working on dropping a mixtape. Shan, you could really coach this cat because...while you arent the best rapper, your delivery is slightly better than Gweets (man, can you please find out what the fuck a Gweet is? hahahhaa)
The second song also suffers from the same thig, the lack of a constant theme...the video is a random mix of images oand video clips with dont seem to have a cohesive theme linking them all...while the lyrics seems to be about "going back to the block" but the video start with a funeral..i understand paying homage to the homie...but Shan, you really need to invest in your artists more man....
I know you shining and living good and all...holla at Jordan Tower or Tha Razor or the INF gang and get you a QUALITY video pyt together by a professional .. I respect you working with what you got, but homie...you CAN afford a decent video and profesional mixing..You got a major label budget but it sounds like the shit was recorded in the hallways of the geneva towers.
I see you still pushing the label and tryin to work on your roster...but you need to stillinvest in a quality project shan....Id really like to see you have at least one professionally directed video in your career Shannon...I know you aint blown all that money already homie.
You had an album called Mind Right Shie right or something like that right? Well your video is shining like a pair of spinner hubcaps homie...Invest in these artist and get the label together for a REAL video shoot..just once..then you can shop that around and get a better reponse folks.
I dont claim to know it all, but i know a little about a lot of shit and I think if you take some of my advice man you could make it further than just the streets of HP and a random city in florida.
Keep hustlin shan...i respect ya drive and love for music...but homie, you gotta step it up dogg like Ive been tellin you for years now.
If you need a quote for a decent video I can help you man....I aint trying to knock you im trying to see you give a better portryal of the undeground bay area rap scene and what WE are capable of when hard work is put in
