here in the Bay what is everyone's thoughts of where we are headed ? I listened to the San Quinn interview and I have said in the past that we need to focus on quality product, videos getting more Bay Area rappers heard on 106th and Park or BET in the daytime. What do you feel we as artists need to do in order to reach a more diverse musical fanbase and farther across the globe ?

People need to take some fuckin music lessons first of all. Rappers need to be more selective when it comes to the music they use, and dont be afraid to pay for quality. There really aint too many real tight producers these days, so the ones that IS tight need to be paid so that they can come up and rep the shit right too. Rappers need to step they game up, stop spittin the same shit that MC Myspace is spittin. Rap in different ways, try beats with different rythms and tempos and shit. Get some established video directors to make the videos, not your boy from the jc who took a video class. Put some real money on the shit, scared money dont make none.

Music is all subject to opinion, some shit that i hate blows up and some shit that I love dont sell shit. Regardless of your age or how good/bad your music is, one thing for sure these bay artists need to learn is how to be professional and look at the big picture. I have dealt with some of the "big" and lesser known rappers in the bay and with the exception of one or two cats all i get is headaches because accross the board these niggas don't know how to deal with real business. Nobody in a position of power wants to deal with artists that are always late, miss important shoots or meetings and always have an excuse. Relationships in this industry are everything. All up and coming rappers and establised rappers remember that, It will make your life/career much easier.

i think that pretty much answers the question, even if someone aint realy known, if they shit is tight, they should be breaded. same wit known rappers, needa be more open minded when they hear someone wit fire, instead of thinkin "i'd eat him" how bout "i'm a put him/her on" without chargin em 500 to a g for 16 bars.

there's alot of that here in the Bay known rappers pretty much only mess with they close folks. In New York Jay Z hunts down talent and puts them on same with LA. In LA established dudes have their ears to the street and puts them on. We were in LA once and the mere mention of us being involved in rap got us so much love it was rediculous. We got VIP in the clubs and kicked it with DJ Quik himself in the studio. Try getting Cellski to return your call or Black C to comment on a beat you sent him months ago, it's not going to happen.
