Window Tinting..

Thinking about getting it done on my car. Just wondering though, do they remove your windows from the car to tint them? I got one rear window that can't be rolled down due to one of the gears or something is broken. Fill me in on what the process is.

you dont need to roll them down, if you did, you would not be able to tint the back window. and they tint the inside because if they did the outside the tinting would likely get damaged from rain, dust, rocks etc flying up and hitting it.

all of your questions could have easily been answered by your very own self if you'd just use your common sense

I don't know shit about tinting windows which is the reason the thread was created. If I should have known exactly what to do and how to do it, I would have done it myself. If you don't got a straight answer, keep the bullshit movin' elsewhere. Thanks for the useful information that came out though.

Check the yellow pages for tint shops. Every city should have a few at the least.

they tint the inside myne, its like a sticky film that they paste on the inside, then you cant roll your windows down for a couple days, the darkest you can go is 5% except your driver and passanger window, you can only do those real light. some shops might do them dark but you gotta sighn a waiver. good shop out here in fairfild, did my monte for 160

WHERE IN THE BAY U AT MAYNE?? THERES A SPOT IN THE NORTH BAY SANTA ROSA TO BE EXACT, THEY DO COLORED TINT BUT DONT KNOW THE PRICES. I BELIEVE THE PLACE IS CALLED SUN TINT, HOLLA BACK IF U NEED MORE INFO.

Where I went they don't remove the windows. 1st they make a template of the tint by placing it outside and cutting a trace of it, then they install it inside the car windows. If your back window is big, make sure you to go to a place that can tint it one piece.

No, they don't take your windows out when they tint them and yes it's on the inside. I'd say call around to get the most affordable price, see what kind of tint they use and maybe photos of actual clients cars if they're doing some off the wall shit like flames or crazy ass designs in the tint. Most places also back up their werk by giving you like a 1 or 2 year warranty on the tint if it starts bubbling up or cracking. As far as darkness goes I'd say go with a tint that's not too dark but not light enough so all the sun gets through. I went with like a 30% tint all the way around and I never got fucked with by cops + it looked super clean.
