see, its all about how you percieve it at that time......back than, at your age you identified wit that music.....like today how these youngster identify wit mac dre, keak, yuk......then we got youngsters that identify wit more of the pop side of rap.....

its all how you identify wit the raps......i related to mobb music when i use to do dirt shit, but now that im clean, an tryin to make right, i STILL identify but i relate more-so to the thizz mac dre bay rap of late late 90s an early 2gs....

i cant stand this pop-hyphy shit....

its all wit the times....yes, i miss that classic CWH dre dogg typa raps....

that i STILL slap that CWH cd...but it got stolen...funny, i would slap it an NO ONE would wanna hear it. tellin me to change it, yet it got stolen....either someone liked it or hated my listenin to it....

Mac Dre been rappin since the last 80's and Keak and Yuk since the early 90's. those rappers should be considered for the older age groups of fans since thats when they started.

hyphy has got to be the gayest thing ever in music. we went from westcoast G shit to some hyphy, dancin, wearin dumb ass sun glasses, talkin about thizz but not many people are really on E pills. its like everyone is a bunch of clowns on the mic, compared to all those that you listed.

Messy Marv is not really mob music to me. Never really liked his style. If you want music Guce got some mob music. Killa tay got that mob ass style.

hyphy shits coo, some of its too gayish for me but think about it like this

1. the market its aimed at do pop pills and will buy every cd and more cos they got dough.

2. its positive have fun music whether you on drugs or not is your choice.

3. people dance to it, I don't know about you but I got rhythm in my blood so I like to gig.

4. its opened the doord further for a lot of mobshit to get bigger sales and exposer. san quinn and artists like that who been grindin for years are pushin more units cos the spotlights on the bay.

I prefer real talk myself but sometimes you gotta let yourself go an enjoy yourself.

people have been asking this question as long as there has been hip hop. does anyone else here remember the early 90s when it seemed like EVERY rapper had to make a song callled "its real" or "i'm real" or whatever talking about how real they were...

hyphy is like the bay's version of pop rap
true shit...& on top of that, IMO, mac dre had a very pop-ish mainstream sound too.

i also agree with 707north about messy marv...there's nothin mobb about him or his music, & i never been feelin his flow/delivery/voice/lyrics either.

the main problem with this thread (aside from the fact it pops up in one form or another, often) is that it asks a question no on here can answer.

but, the most useful piece of information i can give the thread-starter: c-fresh has an album that should be coming out soon.
