Now... I never do this, but I have to break down the ethics of how a radio station thinks.
Wild is and never had hated on Kiesha Cole. We all know here on this board that both KYLD and KMEL are owned by the same group, which is Clear Channel. 2 stations, very similar, but have their own niche. Wild being more mainstream / pop leaning... KMEL being more urban / street leaning. Wild being younger... KMEL being a tad bit older. Now, if both stations were to be playing the absoloutely same playlist, then they would be in DIRECT competition. Now they do compete by default in certain demographics but not all across the board.
Do your homework on how many records WILD has played on the behalf of Kiesha, vs. KMEL has. You will see that KMEL has played her first, played her more and that results in her being a CORE ARTIST. A core artist is where once a consumer hears that artist they automatically think of that station... Now there are some artists that are core artists on both stations but Kiesha has been a very urban leaning artist in the clear channel state of mind. So, in all... Just like how KYLD doesn't bang a Cole record and yes shes from the bay, why doesn't KMEL bang even the most street track off of a baby bash record. Every station has to have it's niche, in this case... KMEL and KYLD answer to the same person who draws the line for both and keeps it clean.
Sometimes, it's more than just "HATE"...
