Why Wasnt Messy Marv - Get on my hype a bigger record??

I thought that song had alot of potential to be a big radio hit. But I didnt hear it on the radio to much when his album dropped. I think he could of did a video for this and at least have it shown on bet (next).

i think "get on my hype" wasnt as big a record as it should be cuz its nothin' different. i think messy marv kinda bit off alittle bit of The Team. "get on my hype" sounds a little bit like the team's "its gettin' hot".

I really dug that whole album when i first got it but it lost its luster pretty fast, disobayish was hella better if you ask me.

They play get on my hype all the time on KMEL though, It isnt an out of this world single but its still pretty tight. I think clear channel politics prevent any of the local cuts to make the daily top 10 lists though since I never hear that stuff make those kind of countdowns.

that is a hit record, Mess killed it on the chorus, the droop E beat is fire, and it don't sound like anything on radio

and if you folks don't think Frontline's "Bang It" ain't a hit for the same reasons, you're trippin'

if certain records don't become hits, it has a little to do with music... but alot to do with regions, politics, distribution, corporate radio, video play, $$$$, major record labels... and a whole lot of bullshit

personally I aint feelin that track,it doesnt have too much of a mainstream appeal imo it just appears it does cuz it was a new direction as far as production for Mess.He got some good production on his album tho but I think this song is wack

i didnt like it cus it was talkin bout yellow big birds and blue nikes or some shit. that was what made the song fail in my opinon the beat was catchy but the hook was far from that. most radio songs have a catchy beat AND and catchy hook. he was half way there tho on that song.

Playin It Sac!

Im in SAC and Im always up late between 12am-4am and they slappin that track and Frontlines "Bang It". I mean both are in serious rotation after hours...I even heard both during the day several times each...use to get both songs confused because they sound somewhat similar...despite that both still bang wit or harder then everything 102.5 and 103.5 are gett-n payed to play!
