Look man, cats are just going to have to understand and accept the FACT that IT COSTS REAL MONEY, NOT FAVORS AND HAND-OUTS TO BE IN THE MUSIC BUSINESS. THE GAME IS NOT FREE! Don't think you can survive off charity. Cats still have to pay dues, nobody is exempt.

I notice a lot of people rushing to put their stuff out. Why? Unless you're one of the hot-artists-of-the-moment, chances are not many, if anyone is checking for you. Take your time and do it RIGHT instead of convincing yourself that the whole world is waiting on you to drop. That's an illusion.

If you do put something out, do real promotion! Spamming internet message forums with "CHECK OUT MY NEW SHIT! IT'S FIRE!! ALL BANGERS!!!" is NOT good promoting. That tactic will get more people turned off than interested. Fuck flyers too. People can't listen to flyers. All those really do for most people is let everyone know you want to look hard on film. Get yourself an extra box of cd samplers with that money and let word-of-mouth do your promotion.

Quit acting like just because you're stuck in 1993, 94 and 95, that the rest of the world is too! Music is constantly changing. Change with it (if you even can) or get left behind. No excuses, no exceptions and no whining about it.

Lastly, ALWAYS keep it fresh in your head that NOBODY OWES YOU A MUTHA FUCKIN' THING. Radio, major labels, investors, other artists & beat makers, retail/mom&pop stores...NONE of them owe you even 2 seconds of their time, much less anything else! And NOBODY nowhere has any obligation to even give your shit a listen so make sure you APPRECIATE EVERYTHING people are willing to do whether it's a lot, a little or nothing at all.

This isn't directed at any one individual and isn't in response to any one post. Hopefully some day cats will start paying attention and get business about it. Don't expect a possession change until then.

I think that Bay Area artist are greedy. The demand too much when their production is low budget. The majors doesnt see any reason to promote the Bay area. Its like Jew Executives and Bay Area so-called Independent Bosses cannot compromise on a deal.
