this is why theres no new noise coming out. everybody sounds like just a normal person with some raps and recording them. what happened to the bay coming unique w rap styles and voices and everything else ?!?!!?? i mean e-40 sounds like no one else, short sounds like no one else, keak sounds like no body else, turf sounds like no one else, fab, b legit, spice 1, pac, richie rich, you know the rest, but they got to where they got bc they had unique rap voices and styles that seperated them from the rest. shit even killa tay sounded diff w the adlibs,

whats going on with the new talent out here??? nothing special, just normal sounding rappers. no offense just stating my opinion. yall need to come more creative w your raps and voice and delivery and everything if you want to stand out in this tough competetive industry!!

i fully agree, it saddens me to see all my favorite artists (fabby, turf talk, keak (even tho he has that "unique" voice, etc) lose their style to the mainstream shit..... all that soulja boy, and get silly stuff.. lame as fuck, fabby mainly got worse tho. his last 3 tracks were nothing compared to even da baydestrian

I don't agree... The reason shits not popping is cause every cat that starts rapping first song has to do with going stupid, dumb, retarded, ghost ridding, or popping pills. After you buy 20 cds of the same shit of course people going stop fucking with it. They wont to hear some new shit. If a cat come out with a funny voice right now they going dub dude of as a 40 or a fab and not fuck with him. So you can x that idea out. People just need to be there selfs and rap about what they feel at that certain time not what they think everybody wont's to hear. Once you get past that you might have a chance

everybody think they can take the "Mase" route and just talk they way through....Some people just like hearing themselves... No raw talent these days..

Recipe for a rapper:
All it takes is some rhodium plated grillz, a few cubic zirconia's, a new era 5950 hat and a few repetitive spins of mac dre's "feelin myself" and you can turn yourself into a rap artist..

Recipe for a producer:
Fruity loops: in a few days you can make tracks like dr. dre, you might even get vanilla ice and hammer to spit a 16 on your shit....

things aren't all bad. there is promising talent in the bay, like droop e and taj-he-spitz. you just gotta remember that most things suck in all art forms. most artists are bad, most comedians arent funny, most writers suck. you just have to focus on whats good. just because some dude has a myspace music profile and pro tools doesnt mean they are the future of the bay.

Cats be bitin' and frontin' thats why. I know that shit sounds old school, but hey, it is what it is.... Truly talented people don't need to overtly reference other peoples styles, they create their own. Referencing other styles is saved for the twilight of ones career. To pay homage to ones influences. Only then should it be accepted as valid...

Turf Talk & Killa Tay aren't even from the Bay.

The Bay has so many "normal" rappers cuz the Bay people of today with the most charisma, charm & personality aint jumping in an over crowded perfession(rap/hip hop) that's been over crowded since the early 90's. Its summer 2008 and its a zillion times more crowded.

Niggaz need to leave the rap shit alone & go to skool or find a reg 9 to 5. I know the job market is cluttered but the rap game is 100x more cluttered with more rappers being laid off everyday then a regular everyday working man.

cosign on this normal sentiment. 40 has subdued his style for mainstream crossover and im glad he doesnt make entire albums like that. cause these ay bay bay remixes, and get silly's, and snap ya fingers, that aint vintage 40. im not the cat that will tell you he's fell off, cause he still drops jewels in between this chant song madness. but his distinctive style is what separated him from the pack in my opinion, hope he stays true to form on the next album. and yeah, get silly remix is super trash!!!!!!

I really dont get the point of this thread, this is one of the strong points of bay rap. Theres so many rappers that sound different. There will never be another Nickatina or Quinn or Yuk.
