I tried watching this movie again after probably 5 years since seeing it last night and thought it was an overacted pile of shit. There are loads of gangster movies that are way fucking better. Maybe for its time it was good, but now it's just laughable.

I liked Scarface. Funny how it was such a controversy due to the violence and glorification of Al Capone in it's time yet if it were to be released now that movie would get a PG rating.

i was just talkin about this movie with some friends the other day, and came to the conclusion that it is really over-rated. It's super long and the love shit makes a lot of it worth fast forwarding through.

I don't see what the big deal is. Maybe I had to be there during the time it came out. My expectations for this were so high the way rappers and rap listeners would talk about it. But there are many more way better gangster movies. I liked "Carlito's Way" better.

when i think of scarface i think about all the dope parts that i like, and it makes me think of how great of a movie it was...but then when i actually watch it all the way through, and have to watch all the bullshit parts and remember how long that movie really is,it makes me think less of it...it has great moments but not as great as a whole in my opinion

I just think its funny how every rapper is infatuated with that movie...yet most of em were still in DIAPERS when it came out...

i agree...its a coo flick...and i prefer the "older" version of Pacino as an actor...so i liked Carlitos Way better(whioch was written by the same guy)...plus who can beat Sean Penn as a doped up lawyer for the mob????

Are you guys serious??? You youngins are too used to that gangsta shit in movies these days. You got to remember that there was never a movie that was so explicit that ever came out before that. Plus, this movie focused on a Latino who was on the grind. Made something out of nothing. The American Dream was achieved by a Cuban immigrant through drug trafficking. There aint never been that type of shit in movies before. All that violence, cocaine and cussing was appealing to the street mutha fuckas. Especially in the early 80s when coke was the shit. Not to mention that Pacino is the shit and the script is genius. I mean, there are so many memorable quotes, memerable scenes, yall mutha fuckas are crazy to not like that movie! That shit aint overrated, yall are under appriciative!

Goodfellas is dope, and so is Godfather...but both are completely different movies! and if people wanna talk a bout overrated, GODFATHER should be the one they talkin about...i love that movie, but come on, they make EACH scene like its the last.

I saw Scarface when i was like 14, and thought it was pretty dope, but long....i watched it again like a month ago, and it didnt seem that long to me, and it seemed better. The thing about that movie is, u see this guys WHOLE LIFE in a movie...u see how he came from NOTHING, PEAKED, and DROPPED. other "mob" movies NEVER do that. and, it really didnt skip any time. its one of the most complete movies ive ever seen. i mean, the scene with the chainsaw, and how the guy goes out to the street, and then pacino FLATS dood, just puts 2 in him in the street...thats FUCKING HARD!
