Why call it a "Hyphy Movement" when it ain't coo if others catch on too? For example the whole Nump video thing. Isn't the whole point of a movement to make as many people catch on and keep it alive? I ain't trippin' I just dont understand why people trippin on this subject. What do yall think?

i think the point of the the hyphy movement is not for people to imitate, or join it, but for muphuckas to realize that the bay aint no joke, bay can hold its own on the mic, an to respect the bay.....for the other areas to now officialy know that they see shit the bay does an copies or twists it to fit they image....its time to pay ya dues

People put so much emphasis on other regions stealin bay shit, but the bay steals slang, music styles and mannerisms too.

Where do you think the inspiration for "Grown Man On" came from? - Jay-Z

Ghostride the "Whip" - "Whip" is New York slang.

Kanye West made EVERYBODY want to loop up a soul sample and chipmunk it. Even bay producers...

Everybody region "Cake" (money). The first cat I heard say that was Dame Dash. I'm pretty sure "Cake" didn't come from the bay.

etc... etc... etc...

Bitch Please's initial post was on point. I just attribute that to mufuckas STILL not knowing what exactly they want. Do you want a sense of exclusivity with your music, or do you want it to get out there to as many people as possible so you can look cool and say, "I'm actually from the bay where the hyphy shit started".

If mufuckas would spend more time listening to the actual music instead of concerning themselves with bullshit like fame association and the artists' personal lives, I think that would force the artists to make better music.

i am not basing my whole argument on the fact that other regions steal/borrow bay swag, what i am saying is that the hyphy movement is most likely for other areas to know cali rap aint just LA....

hyphy movement, party music, feel good music, was the perfect way to get it out....i just dont think that the lack of artists from the get was the wa to go. now that bay artists are gettin signed, i hope that the hyphy movement will show other sides than jus the "pop" side....the bay do gots lyrical content to that is ALSO hyphy....its jus sad that hyphy is now mainly associated wit party atmosphere....
