Who's your favorite Armenian?

^^ oh word, I thought I read that Agassi was Armenian but he doesn't have 'ian' at the end of his name so I always wondered.....
Armenians are DEEP in Fresno and Sacramento. They all ended up there after the Turks got their genocide on over there.
Check this out tho', my lady friend E. Cartozian's great-grandpa was a rug importer and sued the state of Oregon in the early 1900s and 'won' the Armenians offical 'white person' status on the whole west coast! Before that they were considerd 'asian' (ie middle eastern) and couldn't become US citizens.... :/

The Zildjian clash had its origins in Constantinople in 1623 when Robert Zildjian's Armenian ancestor, an alchemist named Avedis, was appointed cymbal-maker to the Turkish sultan. In the early 20th century, a later Avedis Zildjian, fleeing Turkish oppression of Armenians and linked to a plot against the Turkish ruler, escaped to the United States.
