Some of you that are talking about single scenarios are missing the point. Of course some white's live in harsh situations. But the real problem is not the isolated problem of one single incident or person. The damage with racism is the group effect. When a black man is called nigger, it reinforces the same thing that has been going on for 400 years. When a white man is beat up, for going into a black neighborhood, he still gets to go out and enjoy the privilages afforded to him (i.e. go to a job interview and be judged soley on his merits and not the color of his skin, etc.). Again, i think with racism, you must look at the group effect it plays, not the singlular scenarios. There is a reason why Obama, Oprah, Conde, Colin, Tiger, etc. have been let "in". It is because they are not perceived as a threat to the collective white man.
