I don't really have a problem with what you quoted, the wording in one particular line I would prefer a little different or further clarification but it is what it is.

Nothing to be embarrassed about comrade, you're reading and thats a good thing. Keep in mind that just because something is in a book it doesn't necessarily mean its the absolute truth, especially school books. There are always at least two sides to the story. If you're really interested in something specific, my advice is to a get a book or two outside of school and try to draw your own conclusions after reading various sources and perspectives.
