Raiders down to Brooks
<Mar. 18> The Raiders remain in the market for a starting quarterback and are expected to have serious discussions with Brooks, the Oakland Tribune reports. Brooks already met with the Bucs on Thursday and is scheduled to visit the Raiders on tuesday.
The Saints waived Brooks on Wednesday, the same day they announced the signing of free agent Drew Brees to a six-year, $60 million contract. Brooks will be 30 next season and has compiled a record of 46-53 as a starter.

Washed up (the whole city was washed up after Katrina)? Makes bad decisions under pressure? Brooks is right behind Tom Brady for most 4th quarter come backs since 2000. Yes he's made bad decisions but what quarterback hasn't? I think it should be a good fit. He's got the arm...just need some protection from the line. Let's see what happens. Can't be that bad if the Bucs were interested. As for the record as a starter.... New Orleans these last seasons have been know for having boo-boo defenses. We'll see...
Signing Brooks would make really good sense for the Raiders. They sign a veteran quarterback which takes care of their Qb situation. Then they could draft the best defensive player available (Hawk, Williams) and address their defense. With that pass rushing specialist (Burgess), Warren Sapp and a 1st rounder (Hawk, Williams) if either is available... the Raiders would be back in playoff contention.
Ohhhh I get it. You're one of those pissed off 49er fans huh....Mad because you got a bum as quarterback. This Alex Smith cat was drafted 1st overall. You know QB's are supposed to have a TD to INT ratio right? LOL!.... Alex Smith has an INT to TD ratio. What is it like 11-1? 24 million bucks for 1TD pass? Brandon Lloyd used to have to go up and snatch the ball out of the air because Alex Smith can't throw if his life depened on it. Your team sucks! You're just a bitter 9er fan... Your team is going to be garbage this year too. Peterson, Carter, Lloyd, etc... all left or at least they're planning on leaving because they see where the franchise is headed. If you were a "bandwagon" or "nut ridin'" fan like me you could bounce. But since you're so loyal you just stay there and suffer the pain of supporting some losing franchise! Mark!
