Here's my two cents on this topic.
Someone can sit here and say they moved so and so many units and wether or not you want to beleive them, that is your choice.
Bottom line, if someone is claiming a large amount of units sold and you dont wanna beleive it, check out their live shows...
If they draw, odds are they arent bullshitting, if they dont, then something USUALLY doesnt add up there...
I would never lie about how many units I moved. Bottom line. Cuz at the end of the day I know in the back of my mind im gonna have to live up to those units one way or another....
And to the artists who do music part time and this is not your bread and butter,(not to take anything away from yall) but TRUST ME, you'd be suprised at how many cds youll sell in a day when its your source of income...
So with that being said, heres my numbers for anyone who actually gives a shit. I stand by these and the people that really know whats good, they know what time it is.
2000 Unexpected Arrival - Unexpected Arrival 1,000 units
2001 Unexpected Arrival - Take Control Remix 1,000 units
2002 Unexpected Arrival- If we try 2,000 units
2005 Unexpected Arrival - My life for sale 2,400 units to date.(after only 9 weeks in the streets)
The My life for sale album was released April 28th and we are slowly approaching the 3,000 unit mar in the streets. We are repressing this week and were gonna keep it moving.....
oh yeah, and as far as someone saying a unit pressed isnt a unit sold or a street sale doesnt count, MAYBE, BUT, in the grand scheme of things If im pressing up 3,000 cds odds are im gonna sell almost all of them, so hell yeah im gonna say we sold 3,000 cuz thats how many are floating around out there....
The street hustle is like the NBA's version of AND1.....its legit, it makes money, it draws, its just not CORPORATE...
