You may be right, but the guy won't ever be more than someone who fed off what Mac Dre started and milked it for all it was worth.

A REAL artist doesn't need to "ride waves" homeboy, he establishes himself as an original artist and not someone who uses a movement to gain popularity. That's the reason why he's overrated.
LMAO he's already shown that he is more than somebody who solely fed off what Mac Dre started. Look at what he is doing. He's all over the country, doing songs with a plethora of rappers. From Talib Kweli to OJ the Juiceman. Fab doesn't even have a single out, and he's the most in demand nigga out the Bay. He's pushing the Bay harder than anybody else. What are yall judging him on? The hyphy movement? That's like judging Kobe Bryant on how he was playing 3 years ago. HE's A DIFFERENT PLAYER NOW. Get it?

By your logic, every rapper that rides a wave or hops on a movement isn't real....LMAO bruh that's bullshit. It can only be so many trendsetters. Is E-40 not a real rapper? Quinn? Short? Yuk? Diggs? All these cats rode the hyphy wave in one way or another.

They might of rode the wave to get breaded because that's the only way they could, but the movement didn't MAKE them like it did Mistah Fab. That's the difference.

FAB, just because a lot of people seem to think he's more lyrical than he is

he busts a lot of freestyles but half the time they aren't all that great... and people give him the "freestyle king" crown

don't get me wrong... I like FAB... but I just think he's overrated

You are right the hyphy brought MIstah Fab into the limelight, but he contributed more to the hyphy movement than the majority of the other Bay Area rappers. He got out what he put in. If you ain't a fan of hyphy that's fine, but overrated ain't the word to describe FAB. Call him garbage, call him wack, call his corny, but how can he be overrated if he is hated so much?

I agree with that. The whole freestyle thing probably gets put on too thick by Fab. He is talented in that department, but half the time he is just rambling and talking about nothing. So in that way I would say he's overrated, but as far as the other bullshit that niggas is sayin I don't agree with. People look for reasons to hate on FAB because of his association with hyphy.

OK, I'll just call him wack then and not overrated. That works fine.

lol wow, some of the sacramento cats seem salty for no reason...calling every talented bay rapper overrated is not a good look, i mean, who in sac really even got buzz right now??? and naw im not hating on sac, i live here right now, but what is this??? stop the hate...most overrated bay artist to me is....ehh, i guess philthy rich...i mean people keep telling me this cat is dope and he isn't, i gave his music a few chances...most overrated on the siccness got to be yalls boy A-Wax...i think he is a coo rapper but far from this beast some of you make him out to be...there is no way in hell you can say fab, 40 or quinn are overrated, that should not be said period...

and to chime in on the side mistah fab discussion, i dont think some of yall talking critical actually know the history...you can't be mad at Fab, he got signed to Thizz and Dre passed away or else guess what...Mac Dre would have done HELLA tracks with his new artist Mistah FAB....and yes, FAB went dumb during the hyphy era and was the hottest up and comer in the bay next to turf talk, tell me im wrong...and now he doing music the way he want to do it and he is shining and repping the bay everywhere...he didnt ride no wave, Thizz put him on, what are yall talking???

Yukmouth.. all his albums and mixtapes after the luniz never really stuck with me except the Thug Lordz CD's. 10 years ago the Luniz had 1 hot song, but everyone goin crazy bout him now just cuz he got money. sayin lil boys and girls before every song is just creepy too.
