does the team have national distribution??? and i think if the cd was pushed with the proper radio and tv promotion it could have done a lot better...imagine if they put a video out for what if i had a gun and could get some decent plays on bet and mtv..shit if they could get that for any song they would be doing a lot better..did they even show a federation video when rick rock was on bet?? ..but 10,000 is damn good.
hell no the team aint pushing anywhere near as much as the fed. not now and not overall. not hating on the team, I will buy their album, but they get even less promotion being independant.

The Federation CD. It has all the ingredients to be a major seller. Virgin is putting it out, hmmmm. Has Virgin ever successfully promoted a Bay Area Rap group in the past 5 years? Did they do their homework as far as the sales in the Bay Area, let's face it, the Federation will get a majority of their sales on their soil-The Bay Area. but I agree with homey who said the single Hyphy (One of the Bay Area's biggest singles ever) came out over a year ago. The Hyphy Hype is only a fraction of what it was one year ago. So Virgin should have put out the album right when the Hype was at 100%. Those listeners who loved that song so much went to the store for 3,4, 6 weeks looking for the album, oh it's not out yet, not for a year....... So bottom line is, we'll see. All this is, is a wake up call for the Bay Area-telling us to get up and support our Bay Area Rappers who have big deals, who have big radio play, who have a big buzz, support them at the checkout stand. God Bless The Federation and all who support them. Maybe they should have went the independent route and put out an album with HYPHY as the main song, who knows they could have sold 30-40 thousand to back up their buzz on the radio, then Virgin would have thrown them a better deal??? And they could have rereleased the album with some major backing, that way.

The sad fact about this is when Majors do fuck with the bay this is what happens.....largely in part because beyond popular thought...the rest of the nation doesn't feel the bay!

I got the album and I luv it....it was worth my $$...but look who virgin has gotten behind thus far....Guerilla Black...thats whos gettin the marketing dollars.....or the pub...
