I always let some of my homies check out new music coming out. They all like A-Wax and keep asking me for new shit coming out. And I'm not in the Bay, Cali, or the US...

I also forward Philthy Rich's music to them to check out, as well as many other Bay rap, but honestly they like A-Wax the most.

Not gonna say this is a reason why A-Wax would blow up, but he has potential to get many fans overseas...

Threads like this is a clear realization that a whole lot of your favorite rappers are not as famous as you think they are. Yeah, they can have a little grind going on and less than a handful of fans outside their area, but for the most part, they are not heard of outside their region & the Siccness.
I know a dude that tells me I listen to nameless sucky rappers when I listen to Hus and Jacka even.

man, speakin on this thread and living in other areas, you'd be surprised how many people show ZERO love to underground cats. Especially in NY, if they don't hear you on the radio, you don't exist. Even with as poplular as mixtapes are and how many rappers are trying to make it, they don't support a lot of cats out in NY unless you're going to underground clubs and stuff
It's not just in NY, Bro. It's happening everywhere. The rap game is a dying breed that will still live with the ones who started out when there was just tapes. Everybody else who jumped on the bandwagon after discovering they could record on their home computer & thought everything would happen over night, will let it go like a fad. Because at the end of the day, that's what it is to them, a fad.

Much like break dancing. It was a passing fad in the 80's, yet it still exist today, but not as popular to the rest of the world. I'm willing to bet if you could download a program that would make break dancing easy, everybody & their mama would be break dancing, but recording raps on your computer is more of a reality & a lot easier.

The reason I think a lot of people won't support anymore is due to the saturation / garbage that's being put out by the masses. You can not get passed a few steps anywhere because everybody raps or produces. Or is some how involved with music. I took my kids to a birthday party a few weeks ago & this dude who never rapped in his life all of a sudden approaches me to tell me he raps now. I seriously shook my head & said to myself, "Please God! WTF?"

I personally believe the rap game will go back to the basics where there will be less than a handful of rappers per region. It won't be as popular, but the truest rappers will be content doing what they love to do. Which is the way it should be. And if the day came that a major approached you to sign, so be it. And if that day never comes, hey! At least you had fun doing it.

I think it's too late for both of them to have the real commercial fame. But for the next potential youngster I would like to think that they should put out less material and more quality. There's nothin wrong with the Dr Dre formula. I know these cats gotta eat but they run out of quality material after so long. I thought Livewire had a chance to have old school rap success by following the Death Row formula but it just didn't happen..
