I was sitting down listening to "What I Want" from the Damien "Up N Smoke" cd, and I want to see Damien blowup out of Pittsburg California.
He has something in his story telling and also a realness in his voice that is kinda missing from alot of music that is coming from the Bay Area in this Hyphy Era. Sometimes you just want to hear a realness in an artists voice that lets you know that what they are speaking is real. You got that from Tupac, you get that from Yukmouth, and you really get that from AP.9! Damien out of Pittsburg California has that.
Question is does his THESE PITS HIT label have the budget, the marketing plan and the work ethic to make the artist pop? The talent and the songs are there. "What I Want" and "Scratch" alone can help to make his mark Regionally.

i think there's a lot of dudes that could blow up with a cosign/deal with a artist on top like 50 or wayne... but as far as doing it on their own, i think it'd be tough and unlikely for anyone to generate their own interest.

a couple off top who are closest to having the total package to be marketable...

the fucked up thing is that there's somethin about the bay area that these lames just can't understand tho... like, your average motherfuckers in other parts of the country would rather listen to a song about spending money on a bitch rather than breaking a bitch.

and all the mothafuckas trying to use hyphy as their marketing tool a couple years back left a bad taste in people's mouths, because squares that listen to wu-tang in delaware that drink natural light w/the same 3 white dudes every weekend couldn't understand that shit either.
