^Agree agree, especially on san quinn and the hoodstarz. Big Rich disapointed me tho, e-40 practically kicked his ass thru the door and he still put out a poor album imo, and flopped thats fact.

that first hoodstarz cd came out late 05. too short did his thing with blow the whistle, e-40 did his thing with 3 videos snap ya fingers, tell me when 2 go, and u and dat. but by far the biggest song of those 3 was snap ya fingaz. mistah fab did just enough verses to keep people interested in him and wanting his album. quinn's cd was tight even though i hated it for several months. big rich was nice album. bullies wit fullies 3 was pretty big since it had a hit. everyone else going to jock and go with mob figaz and mess but they didnt really do anything special to get nationwide attention (more mob figaz then mess).

damn... i never thought u would come around.. lol. glad u like it now after hating it for that long.

2006 was a good year for the bay. the bay created a buzz in 06'. the bay got a lot of press, we just gotta keep it going now! all these big releases in 07' need to do at least 20k. i'm talkin bout quinn, fab, fed ( they gotta do numbers!!),ya boy, clyde, turf talk, frontline, mess, keak, yuk etc etc.

40 really knocked down some doors with his 2 hit singles! 40's last few albums didnt really sell what they should've but to come back and go gold "my ghetto report card" is big! especially in today's day and age with the downloading issues. dont hate on 40, he definitely did well this year.

advice to new artists and the established artists hiding behind screen names that check this board: hyphy is ok but its a phase so dont stamp yourself as strictly hyphy. talk about some real life shit, experiment with different shit from concepts to song structure. you're artists, use your creativity! i know u guys got more shit to talk about then just goin dumb. this is not really directed at the people who jumped the movement off cuz i'm all for the movement. the new artists need to realize that u can make singles without a hyphy reference.

either way we (the bay) have a long way to go but people are starting to finally give the bay a chance.

Ya Boy did his thing, he gained a lot of attention from outside of the bay and put out a lot of mixtape type tracks.

I can't wait for next year though, a lot of big names should drop real albums, not the half assed ones with reject songs that seem to be realesed a lot of the time.
