I'm wondering what Bay artists people in the area are feeling and who they would want to see at a show??? ALL suggestions help. Tryin to put together a couple things to build a strong connection on the West Coast as a whole.

all my favorite artists have been here several times this year...E-40 has been to SD/Mexico like 4 or 5 times and BLegit has been here twice...I'd like to see C-Bo but hes from Sac ...Mistah Fab and San Quinn would be cool cuz i wasnt inside the show yet when they performed at 4th and B

I'm not sure why all the hate on hyphy......Its not really my favorite kind of music but some of those songs bump...you aint gonna see me wearing big ass glasses or vans or no shit like that but to be honest with you the best concert i seen this year(and ive been to quite a few) was the hyphy movement show at 4th and b in march...We definitely need to keep the west unified and at this point hating on hyphy is like hating on the bay as a whole and the last thing we need is some north vs south rap shit

Then it is what it is...I dont like the direction rap has gone....I dont think its good overall for the west or rap in the long run.....Im not asking anyone to side with my opinion..but Im standing up for what i beleive in.The problem is there are too many people saying...support this movement and that movement...and west coast movement...Thats killing rap as well.cause we shelling out money on bullshit to show support, wich helps the cycle of poor quality music continue....This aint even north south ,bay L.A. I felt the same way when Westside connection got on radio saying support the west.....dont get me wrong I wanna support the west..but only those putting quality albums out...wich today is to far and few in between. For a minute this subject frustrated me cause I sat thinking that something I loved so much..im starting not to like at all. Then I realized that it wasnt the genre that i stopped liking but the current state of hip hop and quality.I also thought..It doesnt matter if i ever buy another rap c.d....and thats the truth...cause Im sitting on thousand or so C.ds and tapes...I got music for life

there's a lot more to the bay than Hyphy...i didn't ask which hyphy artists you are feelin. There's Quinn, Jacka, Yukmouth, Messy Marv, Andre Nickatina, Ya Boy, Seff tha Gaffla, Willie Hen, Too Short, Big Rich, Bailey, and there's so many more. I feel you on the whole "put out a quality album and I'll support it" so if you haven't already, check out Quinn, Bailey, Jacka, Willie Hen(The Product), Messy, Short's albums that have come out this year, as well as Mistah FAB's "Son of A Pimp". Big Rich is about to drop a quality album also.

so true....this is an example of why movements arent necessarily good.the bay is being put all in one box.Im leary to shell out money and feel like I got beat for my money.I do need to check some new san quinn......My collection of tapes and c.ds include alot of bay artists....to name a few...messy,totally insane, too short(even them old school tapes) blackjack, celly cel,chunk,e-40(excluding new c.d)Imp,herm,rbl,4tay..I could go on and on....

you're right and it sucks for a lot of the artists out here that don't want to be considered "HYPHY". if i was to give you a recomendation on 1 album to get this year out of the bay..it would definatley be San Quinn's "The Rock". Even over 40's. There was a poll on the Bay Area board and Quinn beat 40 easily for Album of the Year so far out of the bay.

By the way, 4 Tay just got home, so be looking for something new from him!

Fab's album is the shit so is Quinns....when you have a flooded market its going to be hard to tell what product is truly worth your money. But I can honestly say I've purchased more music of quality this year than I have anyother year since the mid 90s...only 2 albums I've bought this year that I was truly disapointed in and thats DPG "Cali Iz Active" and C-Bo "Money To Burn"(more so C-Bo cuz this was the first album I ever bought of his that I didnt like)

But Fabby, Bailey, and Too Short immediately hopped on the "hyphy/go dumb" bandwagon. In my opinion that's one of the problems of music fads. It's what sales, and afterall our favorite artists need to make a living, so they start making that particular type of music because it's what moves units. I can't blame them, but personally I'm not a fan.

THAT GOOD THAT EVERBODY STATES THERE OPNION ON WHAT THEY LIKE. LIKE ME I LIKE TO LISTEN TO ALL THE MUSIC AROUND FROM NORTHEN CALI TO SOUTHERN CALI.I REALLY DONT LIKE EAST COAST AND DOWN SOUTH THAT MUCH BUT LISTEN TO SOME.
THE WHOLE WEST COAST IS A MOVEMENT WIT OR WIT OUT HYPHY MOVEMENT. JUST PUT YOUR EARS TO EVERY SPOTS IN SOUTHERN CALI AND NORTHERN CALI AND A LOT OF GOOD MUSIC. LIKE SNOOP DOGG SAID. THE WHOLE WEST COAST MOVENT GOING ON. RAPPERS FROM THE WEST COAST NEED TO STOP DISS EACH OTHER AND WORK TOGETHER AND GET PAID TO STAY ON TOP OF THIS RAP GAME.

I WOULD LOVE TO WAKE UP ONE DAY A SEE ALL MTV AND BET CHANNELS WIT NO THING BUT WESTCOAST ARTIST ALL DAY.WHY? BE CUZ THEY AINT READY FOR A WEST COAST TAKEOVER. THEY REALLY HATE ON THE WEST...

I LOVE MITCHY SLICK,JAYO FELONY, SAN DIEGO RAP ARTIST TO L.A ARTIST LIKE CROOKED I,G-MALONE,THE GAME,SNOOP,DPG,AND PUNCH OF OTHER FROM L.A. AND ALL OTHER FROM NORTHEN CALI.

TRUE THAT TRY TO LISTEN TO MUSIC FROM EVERY WHERE CUZ RAPPERS FRO WHAT EVER AREA AINT GUARANTEE TO SPIT EVERY ASPECT OF THE GAME.
