Which artists aren't from here, but the music gets the Bay noddin just the way we like it. Very few and far between are the artists that TRULY get a Bay pass. Our sound is unique.
I submit: Rodney O and Joe Cooley for "Everlasting Bass" and DJ's and MC's. Man, it was a while before I realized they were NOT from the bay. Everlasting Bass?! I just assumed they HAD to be from here. They get a lifetime pass for those two songs.
Biggest dissappointments: 2 Live Crew. Any of you old heads remember "Miami" and "Ghetto Bass." Very different fromtheir later more commercial style rap. Bottom line was for a split second, with those two underground releases, they had love out here. AMongst those who had serious equipment,we loved Ghetto Bass. But then they started talkinabout hoes and bullshittin. Even thoughthey started selling lots of records, they immediately got their Bay Pass revoked.
But Rodney O and nem got a lifetime pass.
"Some people can't stand it, they try to plead they case. But they cant get enough of everlasting bass!!"
