SAN FRANCISCO — Homicides in an area of the Mission district designated by authorities as a gang-free zone went from zero during a span of almost 10 months to three in just three days this weekend.
Francisco Pena, 41, of San Francisco, and Francisco Cornejo, 26, of unknown residence, died in a gang-related shooting inside a 24th Street pizzeria late Sunday afternoon. A third man suffered life-threatening injuries, San Francisco police Sgt. Lyn Tomioka said.
“We had officers there within a minute,” said Capt. Stephen Tacchini, who commands Mission Police Station. “We couldn’t resuscitate the victims, but we were able to make a quick arrest.”
San Francisco residents Andres Siorda, 19, and a 16-year-old youth were arrested at a nearby home 10 minutes after the shooting, police said.
The owner of Papa Potrero’s Pizza, where the shootings happened, would not comment for fear of retaliation, but police already have footage of the entire incident from at least five different cameras inside and outside the business.

the songs that are being talked about are from 5 years ago. wax dont have them. and neither does b 12. i released the only songs i had from the bay rider gang shit. the other songs are gone. we recorded about 15-20 songs at that time. and we were all riding together. smigg, me, wax, and 12 along with daric b and john dough were together every day damn near. so of course smigg probably said some shit taking up for his homies beef. just like wax said some shit about some of smiggs beefs at the time. hell i even said the 1 diss line i ever said in my whole career of rap. him or b12 could have went to smiggs house, sat down and talked on some man shit in person by themselves before anything bad happened. MUTHAFUCKAS WERE FRIENDS. IN REAL LIFE. not the rap real world, but the real world.
just had a nice phone call with b 12 for the last hour. enlightening to say the least. on some man shit, im able to say that this shit bothers me cause i know how close people were in the past for it to be playing out like this. i didnt know a few different things involved in this scenario which i know now.
like i have always done i hope this ends sooner than later. with minimal trouble for everyone involved. pride and ego are dangerous emotions to play with. im sure there is a resolution to this. and once smigg and b and wax figure out what that is, closure can be made.
a lot of real street people being involved can cause more drama than necessary at times. hopefully level heads and THE RIGHT THING will prevail.
