Yo,

Real talk, Frontline could have easily been one of the greatest bay rap groups of all time. First of all, Locksmith was not only very talented when it came to just rapping, but he was also a conscious rapper. He rapped about deeper shit than just thizzin and gettin fucked up. While the bay area is blowin up no doubt, i feel that the presence of a denser, more meaningful bay rap scene is needed. While this isn't the east caost, which has a plethora of conscious rappers, Frontline brought a different sound and flavor to the bay scene which almost felt like an East Coast style. Does anyone know where they are? What they are doing? If they are planning on releasing anything else? Hell Yeah, and Bang It are not the songs i'm referring to when i think of Frontline. I'm talkin about all the tracks on their cd's that most people haven't heard. Anyone else a fan of frontline? Lemme know what's up wit my Half Persian Half Black homie locksmith.

Frontline said they are working on their album right now, they used to talk on their "New Bay" forum all the time but they said they have been busy. They claim they are going to try and bring their forum back...As for any haters Frontline is DOPE, Locksmith has spitters (content and punchlines) and left is solid IMO. Left may not be as flashy as Lock but I think their styles mesh well together.

When they come out with their new cd that will be a breath of fresh air for the Bay. They have always repped the hell out of the Bay without following all of the trends. They (as a group) have that quality to be respected nationwide. When they drop singles they knock in the clubs and on the radio, yet they still have an edge to them that hip-hop heads can fuck with. Lock and Left are both dope- just in different ways. To be honest with you if they both attacked the track in a web of punchlines and metaphores it wouldn't be right. They have a good balance and the way they do it is hella smart. They make sure you get to enjoy the meshing of two different ways of attacking a track. Shit, I'ma fan so I feel the guy that started the thread. I listen to the albums cuts and how easy they make the shit seem and that shit is impressive. Can't wait till the shit comes out.

frontline may be the most overrated group out of the bay ever...definitely no chance at being one of the best. all they rap about is how they like rapping, they're hella good at rapping, and they wanna make hella money rapping.
