Give it time. As YouTube is starting to prove, people want more Video. Once we start seeing these so-called "rappers" and "labels", close up and on camera, we'll better be able to make up our minds who has it and who never will. Do a search on "Dirty Shoez" and "Video", and you'll see me over a year ago talking about how Video/DVD is about to explode......and lo and behold, YouTube is becoming one of the top websites on the internet.

There's a lot of rappers that are surviving because of deep pockets, so they can pull out all of these studio tricks and big name features to make their album sound tight. But when it comes to the stage or cyphers, they look like nobodies--no charisma, no attitude, no swagger. Nothing about them is rapper. They're characters and nothing else.

HD Camera prices are coming down. Just wait for them. Once video producers stop doing this whole "And then I got this DVD, then another DVD, then the 3rd DVD, then ...." etc etc, and just release the footage already........it'll snowball from there.

Damn....almost 2 years ago.

I'll end here like I always end: Video is coming. HDTV as the household standard is coming. We can either be ahead of the curve, or wait for everyone else to grab up all the market share, and then come running in yelling "WAIT! WAIT FOR US! PLEASE WAIT!!!"......it will be too late. We will look like we're just biting everyone else.

2 years later, we got Smack DVDs in heavy rotation, other regions releasing DVD Magazines, all of this stuff. NorthWest--we got some clips up on YouTube and not much else I've seen. The choices are $20 for a high-quality DVD or free downloads on YouTube at ass-quality.....where's the middle-ground?

But there's a lot of people who could be killing it. There's probably rappers in Montana or Iowa or Wisconsin that, at one stretch in their lives, would kill most Top 10 Rappers, including your favorite rapper.

Without the right environment, though--and once they realize hard work don't mean shit, its all about politics and where you're from--they'll quit, just like anyone good at something but not in the right environment usually quits. Money talks, you need money to survive. You don't need to be talented to survive.

Videos/DVDs are coming. Thats about all I can say. Fat, sloppy rappers on stage are going to embarrass the shit out of themselves. Energetic, fan-friendly rappers are going to excel and word is going to spread. Eventually, you'll have rappers ending up more in the gym getting in shape, more working on breath control, more working on fan interaction, to become the all-around package.

Never, not entirely anyway.
Bottom line is half these cats is broke, that's why their records are always "COMING SOON". Our shits expensive, even our old material, so why would we want to work with cats (we work with alot of NW acts) that have blue/green CD-R's in a bullshit mixtape presentation? That's wack. Your marquis NW artists network with each other and know each other; wether you think certain cats are wack or not, and they continue to network.

RENEGADEZ IS ALMOST HERE KIDZ!!

Northwest Rap Music:

There are plenty of people willing to work together, and the ones who are not are just a bunch of selfish fucking babies with hurt pussies! Yes it sucks that some people in this town can't work with one another, but that just goes to prove that most mother fuckerz are selfish. When people learn compassion and understanding and that there is a real message waiting to breatht then you will see more folks on the same page. Until then we will just have to keep searching for the ones who do want to collaborate.

FUCK THE HATER ASS BITCHES!!!

Your such an idiot, werent you the one saying that all Tacoma rappers suck, or was it Spokane???
Who you talking to, friend? Ironically enough, I was just listening to Easy Locz yesterday while I worked out (solid album), and Certified while I was jogging (also solid). It'd probably be better for you to clarify who you're speaking to, or do research ahead of time, or both.

As far as "haters"....it's one thing to hate (sabotage, talk bad on, talk others out of buying), it's another to not know who you are and have you in my face pushing a $10 album. It's 2008, people don't like to be high-pressure sold any more, especially in the NorthWest. Don't confuse "not interested" with "i hope you swerve off the road into a tree and die".

Rappers don’t need to come together. What’s the point? “Hey we’re both talented lets kick it”

Business men coming together makes more sense.

Now a days rapping is not enough, gotta be a businessman/rapper.

Yo this is true, In Portland you got made crew rollin, You got the Sandpeople, Old Dominion, Fli Boyz, you got lil face and his cats, Tha Gov, I mean there are a lot of people affliated with each other as well. In the P.O. I think it is a healthy balance with group, crews and solo

im one of the first to say we should all unify but in the end nobody really likes everybody, ya dig. alot of catz rappin from the town already know each other, and got prollems wit each other on other levels.
if i had a penny for every mutha fucka that me or one of my goonz took a beezy from in high school we'd be very rich men off Portland rappers.
chances are that if u really doin sumthin, and your from the town, u know most everybody, and your worst enemy prolly rap or got an artist reppin they hood aswell.
or
you got a fam member that rap too but is from another hood and yall hoods got divine hatred for each other.
or
your not from a hood and no one in portland listens to backpack knoledge rap anymore.
plus in most cases, in order to get anywhere in the portland music scene u gotta have that determend "im better than u" type of confidence.

its just how a small city stunts its own growth potential!

but sum catz still break the mold and get money over dumshit----- these are the catz that will ultimatly succeed in life and in this obstical course we call the music business
and im only speakin on the rose, but givin that its a small city and that thats really the only kind of city that the NW got, im pretty sure it applys to most citys out here.
