Again, I highly doubt their all from Frisco. Same thing goes for Raiders @ Charger games, you see a bunch of Raider fans. Bottomline, A LOT of people here in SD just JOCK the Giants, A's, 49ners & Raiders. It's that Bay thing, yadadamean. lol Not to mention, the gang signifance Raider jerseys have. Just a bunch of bandwagon hoppers down here, if either the Padres/Chargers had some rings, people in SD would be loyal. Fuck that though, I'm sticking to my city's team.
I see. I wasn't going to take a cheap shot, but to be honest, I never thought Padres fans were all that loyal. I never really picked them up as an adopted favorite. The Chargers on the other hand, folks do seem really loyal to that team. A lot of pride in the Chargers down there. It was fun to see Chargers games cause folks really cared. I kinda picked up that Chargers as a second team.

I guess its also easier to root for the Chargers because they aren't in the same division as the 49ers whereas the Padres and Giants play in the NL West.

yall need to realize sf is only 600 miles away tho.

thats an hour and a half on a plane or 7-9 hours in a car.

im sd born and raised and ive lived in sf 5 years of my life and know the bay better than most people in northern cali.

theres a bigger connection between southern and northern cali than we know..

the bay is down in la and san diego alot. and we go to the bay

I don't know man, I would say most here in SD are more loyal to the Padres. It just seems as of recently the Chargers have taken off fan wise because of their recent trips to the playoffs. I would say 2 out of 5 people here root for other football teams. There's so many Raider fans out here. I know Packer fans, Chief fans, Steeler fans, everything is out here. Seems like most people weren't born here or something.

SDSU hasnt mattered since marshall left.. thats lame.
i mean can you imagine having to sit through 4 quarters of an aztec game?
seriously..think about that.
driving, paying, and sitting to watch that.
so as an outta towner i could see how your fanbase would stray.

rofl. There's 30 teams in NFL football, if the 49ers aren't in the playoffs than I'm picking a team I've seen and like and have homies who are into that team and thats the Chargers. I spent four years out there and have ties in SD and like seeing the Chargers play - but never would the Chargers take precedence over the 49ers. I have a 49er and Giants tattoos and GO to almost half the home games each team has all year, so shut your idiot pipehole and go blow a fucking horse.

You used to NEVER see that many Charger bolt stickers on the back of people's windshields. Fuck that though, I'm sticking to my city's team.

And the Boston Redsox jerseys. hahahaha, that's all you see bar junkies wearing in downtown. Again, I doubt their all from Boston. It's truely amazing how WACK some people can be downhere in Dago. SD is a nice big city, but because of people like that that refuse to rep, our image is not that big on a national stand point. They just know us as having nice weather, beaches and the zoo. lol Yaaay, the ZOO, lets all go to the ZOO! cmon now. How about building a SixFlags out in Eastlake or something as well. Fuck that, I want to be known for having a loyal fanbase for our local sports teams as well, it helps so much on city image. Seems like people don't really give a fuck of the Chargers stay or leave.
on that note u gotta think about it as this in san diego not everybody and hardly anybody is from daygo(originally). u got the navy and marine bases out here which makes up for a majority of the population out here, and they can decide to stay in s.d. like i did

at the end of the day tho if you aint born and raised in san diego it aint your job to rep the chargers or the padres.

being that SD is a military and tourist/newcomer town, we dont have many people from the city originally.

i rep the teams cuz they rep my city..the city i gre up in. not cuz theyre good or anything like that..i could care less about that

i wear brown and orange cuz thats og padres colors

cant do the powder blue thing tho.

I'm not out reppin the Chargers. Like you said thats people born and raised job to do. When I came down to live in 02, I went to some games and met some cats who were fans and had a lot of fun gettin fucked up and watching Chargers games. So as long as they aren't playing the 49ers, they're good in my book!

As far as SD being a newcomer/tourist town I think that's the way every major metropolitan city in America is. Living in SF I've been watching almost everyone I know move out and all types of affluent iBankers and yuppies move in.

i aint a hater. i'm a realist that sees the facts and can admit my teams flaws.

if the 49ers aren't in the playoffs then I'm jumping on a bandwagon
^^^fixed.

i was born and grew up in the city til my parents bought a house out here. i'm a fan of both raiders/niners and a's/giants. worked at all the stadiums for a few seasons and been to hundreds of games over the last 5 years.

slightly different when my teams are only a few miles away. i've lived in both cities. worked for both organizations. the difference is theres no bandwagon here. both my teams suck and i dont give a fuck. this year might be different for the raiders tho... doubtful bout the niners. and when my teams dont make the playoffs am i gonna be a patriots fan? no. i'm gonna say fuck you nfl! fuck off until next year!

the only reason i gave you shit anyways is cuz u sounded like a punk ass niner fan that likes the chargers... and since u been to games u should already know about those weak ass yuppie ass sf bitches.
