Im just saying, if i were to have a poppin single, and i sell 50k at 10 a pop and make back half a milli from album sales, it would be a fucking problem lol! id really have money to pump into the different markets and still keep my base happy. all them majors got is more money, if you make that much offa your buzz, then you have the money the major would put into your project.What the fuck is up rappers? i WISH i had a buzz like Jacka or Keak or Fed Gang did, thats all i woulda did!

Im still buying the album thoe. I hear alot of "support your artists" but its hard when they dont give us a product to support...

those numbers just aren't reality. im still gonna buy a copy whenever it does drop though.

yeah, im prolly off on the numbers but im speaking best case scenario. i think somebody can still sell close to 50k on independent, didnt tech 9 just do it? yeah i know he got a monster fan base but still...hell speaking of tech 9, i think the Strange Music biz model is super on-point. that fool did 299 shows last year or something like that...cuz he (at least i think)aint trippin offa "lookin for a deal" or "shopping the album around". nah, just drop that bitch while u got the buzz goin, and if its a hella good album, then word of mouth is gonna help the sales too.

Just a thought...

50k is not happening for but a few artists on majors. independently cats are lucky to see 5-10k, if that. timing,money, team players all effect total sales. its all about numbers and percentages. 5-10% off sales for each wrong turn can make or break any independent project.

^^oh, didnt know that. Is that 5-10k figure all around for an independent rap artist, or just a bay artist? the numbers game is nutty as hell i swear! good info though!

is for a very well known indie artist in the bay area. most have trouble selling a couple thousand. i dont want to turn this thread into somethings its not though. myself as well as alot of others are looking forward to hearing and seeing how tear gas does. its dropping in a couple months.

Fuck i know its gona slap anyway, Jacka has yet to drop a weak solo album. I hope it does good numbers so Jacka can get started on a next project right away. But in this indie game niggas gotta be taking no days off and pushing themselves any and everywhere doing shows and instores. A Mob-figaz dvd would really build up the profile of the figaz though, something to think about.

Couple of months??? Anyway, I think with the right money behind the right project 50K in a week would be no problem....
