when a Double ALbum drops... do sound scan count each sale as 2... rather then 1 ?

ya know...

like say a artist sells 500,000 copy's of a Double LP... is it sound scanned and recorded as 1 Million

Cause I remember someone saying thats why All Eyes on me, and E-40's ELement of suprise showed such high sales... shit there classic albums and deserve all the sales they got... but were they truely that many people who copped it?

double albums count as two sales..

that's why they are called DOUBLE albums....

Just like a Double Cheeseburger has two patties!

If they only counted as one sale.....they wouldn't release them

think about it....why would a record company...even in indie give more than they can get away with.....????

Double albums count as one sale. Double albums only matter to the certification of an album by the RIAA for GOLD, or PLATINUM releases which then take it down in half.

Here's how it worked for ALL EYEZ ON ME...I believe the first million copies sold counted as 2 sales, everything after that counted as one!! When certification comes into place that's how it works, don't ask why but it is!!

Also, according to Death Row, All Eyez On Me counted as 2 albums...if y'all remember correctly, 2Pac only dropped ALL EYEZ and MAKAVELI, and after that his 3 Album Contract was up!!!
