Anti Virus, Anti spyware, Video Codecs, Essentials, Flash Players, Shockwave Players, etc. long list so i'll probably get to it tomorrow.

I've heard Vista is crap. Many people have told me about linux but I never really found time to get into it.

all i have is firewall and anti virus, and I have never gotten anything messed up or whatever. I download too, so it's not that. Just gotta be smart about things.

Defy I know u already mentioned bx, that's where I download from too it's pretty safe. If I download from anywhere else I might scan it or something, but I've never had any problems.

Vista = the new Windows ME. I just got a new laptop with vista on it and it crashes all the time. It also crashes and goes to a blue screen which I never saw while I had XP. I also had a glitch where the media center stopped working and I had to reinstall Vista to fix the problem, not good especially after I just finished ripping 20+ CD-Rs of MP3's and had to strat again....

Xp Media Center 2005 is only good is your just putting music and videos on, other then that its just as good as ME.

TinyXP is ideal for somebody who is a PC gamer. I'm downloading TinyXP Beast Edition and TinyXP Vista Edition.
