whats really ruining hip-hop? SNAP RAP for one...the beat makers(that have 32 and up track recorders and only use 5 or so tracks) and the artist that choose these beats to make into singles that sound just like anyother song on the radio or t.v. ....

Do you guys really feel like there is no more good hip hop left ?

Seriously. I feel like there was just as much garbage shit in the so called 'Golden Era' of hip hop, as there is now, granted it might not have been on MTV, BET, and all over radio, but it still existed, and now cats are acting like 'garbage rap music' is something new.

I don't get it folks.

I agree, you have to dig for it. Personally I don't watch music channels or even listen to the radio for that example. I only listen to my iPod. And I think younger guys like Chamillionaire and Lupe are really forcing rappers around the country to step their game up to new level. I also am fortunate enough to live in an area where the local rap scene is concerned more with lyrics and flow more than anything else.

true, in the Golden Age we had Hammer, Vanilla Ice, Tone Loc, Young MC etc.

but there were also NWA, Ice-T, Ice Cube, Native tongues, Too $hort and many more and any Top 20 Hip-Hop Albums Ever list will contain 90% albums released around that time

guess what's missing nowadays?

Well I don't think hip hop is dead it's just that the radio/t.v./mainstream bullshits over plays real music. Now I love music all types but not the new music that comes out. My R&B side includes(Jon.B,Rome,Boyz II Men,O'Jays,Earth Wind and Fire,Ruben Studdard,Marvin Gaye,Bobby Wolmack, well too many to name). My rap sides include(Z-Ro,Trae, Point Blank,Tech9,Jeezy at times,Nas,Pac,old C-Murder,D-12,8Ball and MGJ,Fleid Mobb,Outcast, well way too many to name also). I like Mozart, yeah nigga mozart I have to get my relax on at times but this stuff that comes on the t.v. I can't stand to listen to it because it's not pure. It's mostly club bangers and fake ass niggas talking about the trap just too many songs that have the same meaning and no real topic like the songs back in the day. You can't blame the lables for the "hip hop is dead era" it's mostly females that buy this so called r&b/rap songs, you all know what am talking about. You have these (Ray Jays,Chris Brown,Omarion,Bow Wow,the sugary sweet cats that hogg up the spot light for a lot of talent. But I will continue to listen to my stuff, and remember that i'm not hatin on no music taste but I know real music when I hear it.

im glad hiphop is declining.. as soon as companies cant make money off of it they gonna dump it and keep it moving to the next most profitable genre.. then the real artist wont care about sales and just make music that needs to be made...

whats really ruining hip hop is 13 year old white girls who are the primary demographic for buying records. all of the music coming out is marketed for suburban anglo females with disposable income and curiosity of crime ridden lifestyles and hypersexuality.

so next time you pop in your new rap cd and feel like an anti-authority/establishment gangsta, please remember, it was made for a teenage white girl and you just supported the system.
