NEW YORK -- The first stop of the "Whatspoppin' Next Tour" was literally hot, thanks to the Lava Girls!
The Dallas-based Lava Girls (Shica and Shawneda), the tour's first artists to sign on and perform, delivered a seven minute set that was well-received by a group of almost 200 party-goers.
Dressed in all black, the crowd did not stop dancing when the duo took to the stage, except to witness Shawneda, the singer of the rapper-songstress team, bless the party with an acapella version of Fantasia's "Free Yourself" that would have either made the American Idol star proud...or jealous!
If the NBA All Star leg of the "Whatspoppin' Next Tour" went smoothly, the second installment, where Seattle’s own Dub-B – whose album featuring Bone Thugs-n-Harmony, Baby and other major artists drops in March – is slated to perform in Daytona during Black College Reunion, will force heads to turn to hear more rising stars.
Sidebar: Daytona is coming up soon. Platinum Enterprise is still in need of two more artists to perform!!!
