Whatever happened to Grant Rice's Solo CD?

'Smiles and Cries' was the working title if I'm not mistaken. I know he went on and did Empire, but is there still a solo CD in the works, or did it all get scrapped to go with Empire?

from what i have heard is he has tons of solo shit recorded
