I know a lot of you have talent, I see it here everyday.

But what would you consider your specialty?
What do you think you could improve on?
What is your favorite part about creating Artwork?
How long have you been working with Graphics programs.

Holler!

Interesting topic

1.I 1st started doing abstract art, montages and collages.I just recently started doing this CD-Cover ish....I like all sorts of graphics so I dont have only 1 specialty.....
2.I think I could/should improve on original work. What I'm saying is having my own signature style sorta like pen n pixel.Even Shemp has his own style.I'm steady developing myself so it'll come soon no doubt.
3.My favorite part is going at it like what the hell do I expect to get out this graphics and the feeling I have when I finish my graphics...Sometimes I leave myself like whoa Like this Jadakiss Cover I did in this thread.http://www.siccness.net/vb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=28409..I just went at it like 'whatever'..But when I was done.I was like whoa!!!!
4.I've been at it off n on for about 1 year.I'm always contemplating on going back to school for it..But theirs no doubt I wanna expand myself so I'm gonna swallow that bullet and go back...........1

I'm a very modest person, and even more so when it comes to comparing my work to the other talented artists here...

But I pride myself on my fonts, and would put em up against anyone out there (no it's not a challenge...lol) win or lose too anyone, they are my pride and joy...

I definitely need improvement on my original backgrounds...

Been doing photoshop for about 6 years now...

yeah, well ive been working at this for about three quarters of a year....i got into to this just by looking at all the other graphic artist's work, so i just said fuck it, im gonna make my own. my specialty in graphics...shit i dunno...i just make whatever looks good together...i mean i try and blend as best as i can.....i think that when you get someones screen name and try your best to make the graphic fit it is a coo way of gettin started....

1. I think my specialty would be abstract artwork. Some clean designer type shit, and sometimes i do some alright textures.

2. I think I could improve in a lot of areas. Type Design. Im cool but I need more work. Basically Typography is my weakest point right now. It's the one I really want to improve in.

3. My favorite part creating artwork is the spontanaity (however you spell it). Alot of my artwork is based on what im feeling at the moment. I hardly ever plan out my layouts cuz i know im gonna wanna change it later. I think when you do everything on the spot, you can get more creative. You don't have to base your artwork on a certain layout or standard. Expressing myself through a mouse and photoshop shortcuts is some crazy shit. I think I'm fortunate to have something like that.

4. I used to work with Photshop 3, I think it was back in 94 in our Graphics computer lab at school. It was my favorite technology throughout high school so I took it as a major in high school. Yes high school. I went to a technical school where you had to pick one of 7 technologies to "major" throughout high school. I did it until Junior year when I switched "technologies". I shouldn't of but I did. I always worked on it but when I got my hands on Photoshop 4, it was on. I remember it would fit on a ZIP disc. All you had to do was extract the folder into your program files and there it was. Installed ready to be worked on. Photoshop 5 changed the way I did text, by introducing me to Layer Styles. Im not sure they were available in 4 but I was still learning everything in 4. And most of you know the story with 6 and 7. It has changed alot in the way we compose our artwork.

As an amateur, I've been doing it since 94. Getting payed since 98. And as a Professional in 2001.

If you are scared of fuxcking up something you like, why don't you try SNAPSHOTS? It's an easy way of going back to something you liked. You can use snapshots through the history pallette.

But what would you consider your specialty?
Web graphics, Abstract Art, Layout, and I'm getting better with my drawing. I would say those are my strong points

What do you think you could improve on?
Looking more professional is what I strive for in my work. With the more experience I get the more I get to where I want to be.

What is your favorite part about creating Artwork?
Creating something from nothing is my favorite part. I'll start in photoshop with a blank canvas and suddenly it turns into something sicc. That's the shit I live for.

How long have you been working with Graphics programs.
About 2 years now. I began taking classes and got a few certificates. I'm working on a bachelors in Graphic Design. I'm working in the industry I want to be in, and shit looks pretty good. I'd encourage anyone who's interested to go for it, I'd much rather get paid doing something I love to do than get stuck in some job that I hate.

Specialty: Print graphics. I tried to do the web side and its not as fun to me. But I think most of all my specialty is my eye for design, I learned the old school way of thinking when it came to design so I look for a lot of things that the new school designers don't look for, i.e. proximity, balance, consistency, etc. I think I would work better as a creative director because of that, but I'm here and I love doing what I do.

Improve: I think anything and everything can use some improvement. Even after my 4 years at a UC I still have gone to school almost every year to keep on the up and up and refresh myself. I do want to learn more about web publishing though.

Favorite part: I think seeing a concept after it has been thought out. Cause it goes through so many different stages. Especially when you are dealing with larger companies, you could start with a design and it looks NOTHING like what you started with when you finish. Its even more fun when you see your design while your in the store reading a magazine or get handed a flyer that you designed. I love it.

How Long: I have been working with graphics programs for too long. My dad is a graphic designer so I remember messin around in PS back in the day when it hardly did anything. Its crazy to see the programs now and what they can do. I started with Illustrator in about 95-96. I use InDesign for my layout projects now, but was using PageMaker for HELLA years, and a little Quark.

But what would you consider your specialty?
My specialty, good question. I don't think I've put in enough time to perfect anything so my "specialty" is still unknown to me, other's could probably pick up on something before I could.

What do you think you could improve on?
I think my text always looks off on things, and I'm still workin' with blending images together and such.

What is your favorite part about creating Artwork?
I like takin' that vision in my head and workin' it out onto the computer/canvas. I've always "sucked" at drawing things, I could come up with some coo ideas but I couldn't get them to look right on paper so getting into computer stuff opened up a huge door for me.

How long have you been working with Graphics programs.
if you count MSPAINT, it's been since I got my first computer, but I got Photoshop about 2 years ago or so, and I've worked in Pagemaker *yes they still teach this program* since I got into school in September, and I just started Illustrator... I wanna get some exposure to Indesign, since my school wont teach it. by June I should have some good knowledge in Photoshop, Pagemaker, Quark, and Illustrator....

I am alright at Photoshop, but some of the things on there dont appeal to me. Especially the difficulty when getting the backgrounds together... I learn something new everyday, and has been using it for about 6 months...
