so living outside the US I always wondered how many movies from the US are filmed on actual locations?

like do you guys remember a movie and thinking 'shit I got a kebab from that place last week'

it has elijah wood, dr. melfi as the sopranos, and tom hanks in it. basically its the story of a kid and his brother who move to a new town and try to fit in. they have a drunk stepdad who beats the shit out of them.



the movie theater they go to is the old one in downtown novato. i wish that movie theater played old movies.
