I have lived in East San Diego all my life.

Put it like this, our streets are numbered (one sign that you might be in a hood). I lived on 37th, 39th, and now live on 46th.

Also, my neighborhood has been the first home to immigrants coming from war torn or poor countries. The Vietnamese and Laotians in the late 70's/early 80's, and all kinds of Africans in the late 80's/early 90's - not to mention the constant influx from people south of the border.

My neighborhood is a true jungle, where any species of animal could get your ass at any second - depending where you're at. It's not like the drama is waiting right ouside my door, but I always got my head on a swivel.

I remember looking for a place last year and the difference between rents didn't seem like it was that much between a decent neighborhood and a real shitty one in the Bay. I lived in Redwood City most of my life it is pretty much an average working class Bay Area city with its good and bad parts. I lived in some bad neighborhoods when i was a little kid when it it was just me and my mom, Had to get clothes at savers, was on welfare and all of that bullshit. Lived in neighborhoods where there was needles on the ground and shit, it was nasty. Never saw anyone get shot or nothing like that but one time there was a stand off at my house when we wernt home when some dude broke in our house and held himself up, I think he was a convict or something. We eventually moved to a better part of town when my mom met my step dad, we were still hella broke though.

Born in raised in the Dubs....house on 11th ave and Bucceye rd. Phoenix, AZ. Moved out on my own when I was 16 but still lived in the hood just down the street off of 13th ave. Was getting into too much shit and didn't really see my life going anywhere so I moved completely out of the Dubs when I was 22 to live with my girlfriend and go bacc to school. 5 years later obtained my degree in business management, moved to a nice neighborhood in North Phoenix and the rest is history.
