You're sadly mistaken if you think the bay is the only place cats is rappin about what they doin and goin to jail. The same shit goes on everywhere. We just dnt hear about their indy artist goin to jail cuz we not in they region, just like you probably didn't hear about hus goin to jail if you live in atl. Shit TI in jail, max b locked up, gucci just got out, cassidy was, game was I mean I could go on forever. We gotta get out of this mentality that the bay is somehow more hood or advanced than any other major urban metropolitan area cuz its not. The hood is the same across the country, there may be different slang and ways of doin shit but the end result is always the same. I been to damn near everywhere except ny so this is not hear say this is real life experience.

A few years back some very plugged in ny cats told me is that dame and jay was both really hustlin. They wasn't no damn felix mitchell but they was definitley gettin it in on a real level.

Word Play - apparently, or else youd be asleep right?
Metaphors - if your from the east coast and you rely on them to hold your weight or get your point across, but not a series need, if its catchy and fits, squeeze it, if it sounds like sum dude tryin to hard to sound smart, let it go with the mic your holding onto
Content - better than the hottest person out.

Man we could go on all day bout jay-z but I also know some cats from his projects grew up wit dude and they told me other wise. I did hear that dame was out there doing his thing. But who gives a fuck what Im trying to say is your everyday rapper with all the money rapping bout dope and blowing niggas heads of isn't Doing that shit. It's a vision of how he see shit. And I been many places it don't take rocket science to know shit is going down everywhere feel me. Cats just want to put on for they city they hood the best way they can. If cats is seeing bodies,dope pushed,and hoes thats what he going rap about. Because thats what they see as real in they eyes

charisma. i mean, honestly i think master p sucks as a rapper but ill still listen to some master p because he seems like he's real. same with too short, too shorts never been super lyrical, but he doesnt need to be because he's real.
