The Bay Area needs radio and when the radio gives the Bay Area artist's a chance to be heard it put out a strong positve energy and message to the whole Bay,but its Fucked Up that they pull show that half way supported bay area artist...If we had more radio stations like LA that support there area artist we would be doin alot better and the Yay would be a lot stronger....Because we produce good music from Rap 2 R&B and talent iz throw the roof........Support the Bay Area Movement Playaz...........

i think on the block got ineffective due to the fact THAT BAY SHIT IS REQUESTED STRONGER THAN EVER. the on the block segment happened to only support local rappers cause non-bay commercial music was still taking over the radio stations. but now alot of bay music gone commercial and are on their hourly playlists. besides, theres hella more shit like boxkev in effect. well thats my theory.

Yall need to listen to other TOP MARKET radio stations. KMEL and 94.9 are doing a good job in playing their local artist. Think about it the Bay has house hold name artist with in their genre of music. If someone said "The TEAM, F.A.B, The Frontline, Federation, E-A-Ski, Ric-Roc, Messy Marv, Keak..." off top people would know who they were. Most of these people don't even have major labels making that happen and you have to give some of that credit to the stations. THEY PLAY BAY SHIT ALL THE TIME...and outside of B.A.R.T most listeners still want to hear the mainstream Chris Browns and Beyonce's in the game. In other words you can't sit back and say the radio isn't showing the Bay luv anymore.

at least half the shit played every hour is bay music, there's no real need for on the block, but it would still be nice to have it on.....that way they can introduce new bay artists

Just like most WOMEN (the target listener) don't wanna hear a million songs about scrappas, stunnah shades and thizz faces. there are more people that want to hear her in the Bay than you think.

ON THE BLOCK sparked a lot of artist carreers in the BAY. We need that middle ground for songs to be played before they are cosidered hits. We need it The BAY needs a place for this...

True, BUT they also need to be more selective with some of the music choices on "On The Block". I'm a Bay supporter to the heart and I onl want what's best for the Bay and some of the songs on there were TRASH. There was a need for diversity amongst the genres of Bay Area music being presented. It slowly, but surly went from On The Block to "How Many Hyphy Songs Can We Cram Into A Segemet". Maybe the fact that MOST of the people out here are follwing the lead of the new stapple of Bay artist and making songs EXACTLY LIKE SONGS THAT ARE ALREADY GETTING PLAY that it was a situation where there was no need of playing copy cat songs. Just because it's from the Bay doesn't make the song ok and just because they are saying what Mac Dre said or Keak or 40 doesn't make the song a good representation of the Bay. When it 1st started people would sit and listen to new styles, new artist, varied topics ect...then what happend? Hyphy started to blow up and then EVERYBODY had a song to fit right on in. The music became clone like and IMO you can blame the lame ass artist that just wanted to ride the coattails of others for aiding in the departing of the show.

who said it ever left?

I just changed the format a bit to make it more of a mixshow, keep it flowing, but its still all bay hits, new artists, and classics.

and RealRich has a point, there was a lot of music that wasnt stuff id normally consider playing. We just cleaned it up a bit....We still support the bay and upcoming artists to the fullest.
