what does this beat make you think of?

come on man... if you got Reason, you got better sounds than that. It honestly sounds like you made that beat on a cheap little Casio. In fact, I really wouldn't call it a beat as much as it is an outline of a beat.
Here are some "Step Yo Game Up" tips for that beat...
1. Add some effects to the mixers Aux loops. To do that, right click the mixer and select --> Create --> then select the desired effect.
2. Use horns with more of a punch. You could even raise it an octave or two.
3. The loops have no dynamic. Add a few light, percussive tracks to make it sound a bit more organic.
4. Up the tempo a bit for the club.
5. Take that off your myspace....
And to be fair, my first thought was.....
"... I hope he doesn't think this beat is good..."
