it means a good investment. i went to college and had a blast on the social side but i also stayed focused because the number one reason was to obtain my BA so i could go on to get a graduate degree (which im in the process of) to eventually make more money.

for me, i learned a lot on college...its great to be able to take classes in stuff that you are interested..thats the benefit of a university...i learned a lot that im gonna need in grad school too.

also the social aspect...u meet a lot of people and have a lot of fun...since i went to a university in a smaller city (Davis) you get to know a lot of different people and establish some good friendships

lastly in my transition from regular college to grad school my degree and the university that it is from has opened up a lot of job oppurtunities...it really helps when an employer looks at ur resume and sees that u went to a good college, even when u dont have much work experience like me...

but overall i think the college experience depends on what you make of it...how hard you study, what major you have, and how much motivation u have..

i learned quite a bit in college. i received a degree in accounting...so i had an easier time than others finding a job right away after graduation. i landed an auditor position with a midsize cpa firm...not bad for no experience. True...my classes only touched a fraction of what real life auditing is about. However, in my field, they require entry-levels to have a good grasp of the basic concepts of auditing/accounting. If not...you're let go.

If you're an employer - who are you more likely to employ - the high school graduate or the college graduate.

I'm gonna hire the clearly over-qualified college graduate, and he or she is going to work for my construction company because whoever did not take the shit seriously and got a diploma that has no chance of being used in that individual's life. So many do it....There's your waste of money argument.

In the end, the shit breaks down like the rest of life.....YOU GET WHAT THE FUCK YOU PUT IN.

College is only really that important if you're Poor or Working Class. Otherwise, it's just a way to spend 4-5 years not having to work Full-Time right out of High School

i just want that god damn diploma
16 years of school for one single line on my resume.. pshh.. it better be worth it.
At this point.....yep. For me, college isn't even about a "way up" any more. It's all psychological. Not that I'll feel like I'm better than other people when I graduate...but I will be really fuckin pleased.

don't forget. when it comes to the honeys, college is where you'll find the cream of the crop.
EXACTLY. Ones that are about something too.
